1) Dont fill past the top line
2) Dont put the lid on too tight
3) Mix the fomula first, then put in the bottle (b/c of the venting system - - you can get leaks if you mix/shake in the bottle)
good luck!
I am using the standard Dr. Brown's bottles and have a problem with them being leaky. Has anyone else had this problem? Any way to fix it?
Thank you all for your help! I ended up getting the formula mixes and that did the trick!

I too have expreienced this. It seems to just be 1 of the many bottles. I haven't really found a fix, but I know that if I'm extra aware & attach the top of the air tube tightly it seems to help a little. If you have a ton of the, I'm take them back. Most places would allow that because they will send them back to Dr. Brown as defective items. Hope this helps!
Hi!
We have the newer bpa free ones. I find when I shake them a lot some formula leaks into the cap and when I take the cap off, it goes flying everywhere. I do it over the sink now.
But with other bottles, Iv noticed that if the screw parts are wet when you put it together it allows room for leaking. Make sure its dry and tight.
Hi M.,
We have had our Dr. Brown's bottles leak sometimes too. We found that making sure we didn't fill them past the line and making sure they were really tight helped keep them from leaking. Hope this helps!
Hi M.,
I was having the same problem with Dr. Brown's so we recently switched to the Born Free bottles and have not had any problems with leaks. I also appreciate that there are less parts so they're much easier to clean!
Hope this helps!
Hi M.!
Quick answer to your questions....Yes, and No. I ended up trashing them because I was so frustrated with them, and ended up using the Playtex dropin system...loved them.
Good Luck!
I haven't read the other responses so I don't know if anyone said this already. You have to make sure that you have that tube thing centered just perfectly over the bottle opening and don't fill the bottle too high. Also make sure to screw the cap on very tight. It sounds like alot of work but you get used to it and they really do help with gassy babies. good luck.
Wow, so funny this should be a request on here today because I have been having the same problem and just figured it out last week. I found an FAQ website for Dr Brown's and apparently you are not supposed to mix up the formula in the bottle with all the parts attached (straw, nipple, etc), as this allows formula to go into the vent system (which is supposed to vent out the air) and then allows it to leak. I have started mixing it with just a cap on the bottle (I think you can buy these separate) and then attaching the parts to the bottle. Sounds silly but it really is true...haven't had a leaky bottle since. When my son was born we mixed up bigger batches and poured in a little at a time as he didn't eat much then and so we didn't have the leakage problem until just a couple of months ago when he started talking full bottles and I started mixing up the formula in the bottle. I think Dr Brown's bottles are really good so I think this is worth it. Good luck!
I'm all too familiar with this issue! The deal is you can absolutely not fill past the fill line! Even a little bit and they will leak. Also, if you close it too tight that can also be an issue. I assume your using formula so my best solution was to buy the formula mixer. It was $3 tops at babies or target. I kept one in my diaper bag and one at home. No shaking involved so no bubbles that went over the fill line which resulted in no leaking! Hope this helps!
Yea I stopped using them b/c it was such a pain. So I would either try a diff brand or dont fill it past the line like someone said before. Good luck:)
We have been using them for 13 months now and we noticed early on if we filled above the 8 oz mark (even just slightly above), then they would leak. We keep the fluid just below the mark and make sure the "stack" is in even/properly and that took care of any leaks. Hope that helps!
