I am not sure about the laundry question, but as for the stinky feet- have him soak his feet with a couple of black tea bags. It really helps with detoxifying and cleaning the feet naturally.

My son has some bacteria on his feet that cause them to be very stinky. His socks stink even after they've been washed in the machine. I'm wondering if pre-soaking them will help. He currently has black socks because he won't wear white, so I can't soak them in bleach.
Does anyone know if black socks can be soaked in vinegar/water or if vinegar would even help?

Yes, vinegar helps! It's not quite as effective as bleach, but I just recently washed a bunch of colored towels with a lot of vinegar because they had picked up mildew and no amount of washing them would work. The vinegar seemed to do the trick. Just use a lot.
Hi, i know this is going to sound really strange but buy a bottle of pet odor eliminator and soak the socks in it. Then add a little to your wash cycle. It works. There are creams out there that your podiatrist can prescribe for your. Best of luck.
I use OxyClean for every load, but when we have extra stinky stuff (Ie: DH's work-out clothes/socks or my daughter's favorit blaket when she wets the bed) I fill the bathtub or a bucket with HOT HOT water and then add a couple scoops of oxy clean and let them sit anywhere from 2 hours to overnight. Then i wring them out and wash as usual (with OxyClean in the wash.
