Laundry Challenged with Rayon

I've got a couple of these tops, too. But I pretty much refuse to hand wash :) So I do cold, gentle cycle in our machine -- it's a front-loader and I do think it's gentler on clothes than our old top-loader was. Then I hang to dry on the shower-curtain rod. And yep, I shake/smooth wrinkles out right when I get it on the hanger. Ever since my daughter was born, I use Dreft and Downy Free for our gentle cycle stuff. I haven't noticed any fading or pilling this way. Even so, I now try not to buy anything requiring more special laundering than this. Good luck!!!

Umm don't use Woolite, it causes color to fade. Hand washing isn't a big deal for me you can use dish detergent or laundry detergent or even shampoo. Don't wring, causes a lot of wrinkles, squeeze gently, rinse well and squeeze gently again and roll in a towel to take out excess water, then hang to dry. I actually have an extra shower curtain rod in my bathtub/shower to hang hand washables and hang to dry clothes. If it's a humid day or I'm in a hurry for them to dry I set a fan on the bathroom countertop so they blow dry.
If company comes over simply close the shower curtain to hide them.

I would have to say follow the instructions on the tag. Most say dry clean only for a reason.

I'd have to say doomed to hand washing. Thats the only way I keep rayon and fleece from fading, pilling, and getting that not so new look. I usually save my hand washing up and put it in the laundry tub and then I use a old wooden dowel and stir it like soup for about 5 minutes. I use cold/warmish water and woolite. If there is a stain I pre-treat for 10 minutes with Resolve or some other stain lifter. If I am out I use woolite right on the spot. Now with my NEW fangled dryer I use the drying rack with the air dry option. I just plop em on the rack I dont do anything fancy and let em do the air dry for 20 minutes. They usually are pretty damp when done so I hang dry them time done, but the dryer option takes out the wrinkles. I avoid those now with my brood of children, but people tend to buy those for birthdays and such. I love fleece and soft fuzz sweaters but they just dont hold up in the wash at ALL.

I have a whole slew of these rayon sleeveless tank type blouses that are Vera Wang (the Kohls Simply Vera Wang line). They hang so nice and wear so well under cardigans and little jackets (I am not a sleeveless person at all but hate bunchy layers).

But I have about 8 of these and wash them all in my newer machine on a gentle cycle, all cold water, with a little soap and downy. I shake them out and hang them on a hanger to dry. I haven't really noticed any fading yet, but maybe some woolite could be in order? As far as shirinking, the look alot teenier when I take them out of the washer, but a good shake and hang on a hanger ( I have a set of wire shelves in my laundry room, so I have plastic hangers for drying under them), and they are restored to normal once they dry. I have never had an issue.

What does the label say? It might be a good idea to have them dry cleaned. Lots of 100% rayon clothing says "dry clean only".
