I been washing my clothes for a while and from time to time i have been getting spots in them that look like rust, Can anyone tell me how to prevent these spots in my clothes.
Spots are still on some of the clothes

It happens to me if I leave my laundry in the washer for any length of time after it is finished. Upon inspection - I found that the "basket" of my washer has a few chips in the porcelain around some of the holes - I think the culprit is that where there used to be porcelain - there is now rust. I can't afford a new washer right now - so I don't put anything in and go to bed or leave ....I jump on it right away and pull everything out as soon as it's done spinning. If it's only on your whites - there is a product in the Walmart plumbing department that is good for removing rust stains - I can't remember the name of it - but I only find it in the plumbing section near the drain openers. There are two of them - one is maybe called "Iron out" and the other "white......(something)" Good luck.
I run the rinse cycle with a 1/2 cup of apple sider vinegar(only without clothing in it) every 3 months because my clothes use to have the same thing happen to them....you should try it, it works.
I agree. could be your washer. Wash some rags without soap and see if the same thing happens
my mother calls them Florida mystery spots, she gets them on her white clothes pretty often but they usually wash out. Some good ideas below.
Yeah Florida!
Try adding vinegar to an empty load. It may take a couple of times.
Also take a look inside your dryer.
