Hi mommies,

I just found out that I'm pregnant with our second child but I'm so worry that I'd probably done some harm. I was at the dentist office last week and laughing gas was administered during my dentist visit. i didn't know that i was pregnant at that time, otherwise, i would not of used laughing gas (nitrogen) during my visit. I will be contacting my doctor tomorrow morning but wonders if you mommies have any information for me at the meantime. The laughing gas was used for about 30 minutes. I'll be on the Internet searching for info. as well.

I really appreciate your input.

No advice on your question, but DO NOT search the internet for info. You will always always always find the worst case scenarios and then you will be an emotional wreck. Trust me!

Short term it should not be dangerous. Just stay calm and call doctor tomorrow. No need worrying too much.

Girl! I loved Saturday night strawberry daiquiris (not much rum--2 glasses) for the first 7 months of my pregnancy. I was young and dumb (early 20s). In the 8th month, I started to feel guilty and stopped!

My son came out fine--I am not advocating alcohol, but I am saying that to put you at ease of your one-time 30 minute procedure.

God bless.

It's not commonly used in the US, but "gas and air" is commonly used as labor analgesia in the UK and it's the exact same thing. No need to worry.

Usually you have a window of a couple of weeks before the placenta is functioning. It's like nature's way of safeguarding the baby before the M. knows she's pregnant.

If this makes you feel any better, my SIL had SURGERY. Full anesthesia and all, and found out she was pregnant two weeks later. Her baby was completely normal and is now a H., healthy 6 yr old.

I'm sure everything will be fine!
