Ease of removing baby from swing, especially when asleep, was important to me, as well as careful inspection of design for comfort and making sure nothing can pinch. I'm sure that swings are better designed today than they were 10 years ago, but these are still factors I'd want to be certain of. As well as inspecting recall notices. A decade ago, there were a couple companies that just always seemed to have recalls. I found myself avoiding them as names kept popping up on watch lists. I would research amazon.com and any other place you can find reviews as well before settling.
We personally used a Graco swing that took batteries. But the nice thing about its design was that even when the batteries were dead, we could push the swing alone without batteries. Both my kids loved it. Even when they were technically too heavy to use it anymore (motor won't work past a certain weight), we continued to use it without batteries and motor, just pushing the little swing. It was fairly easy to load and unload baby from as well. Though I would hope today the design would be improved enough to be easier to assemble, etc..
BTW, it looks like your FlutterBye Dreams swing is still being sold by the Baby Center Store here: http://store.babycenter.com/product/code/17077.do?scid=SS...
And it's ON SALE! Looks like free shipping too.
Good luck and blessings....
