Since everyone has equally good things to say about both districts, I say send him to Chesterfield- there's a Starbuck's right down the road, and there isn't one in Clinton Township!
We are in a new sub but it's actually in Mt. Clemens school district. I have enrolled my 5 year old in L'Anse Creuse school district school of choice for K next year, but I'm also looking at Chippewa Valley. My elementary school choices I believe are Miami, Huron, and one other. The middle school would be Algonquin or Wyandot. If he goes to L'AnseCreuse he would go to Chesterfield Elementary and then L'Anse Creuse Middle School East or North and then L'Anse Creuse High School North.
Can anyone give me any insight into the schools? Good or bad from your own experiences. I don't want to start a heated debate but I need some help in making the right choice for my boys.
Thanks!

I have lived in the Chippewa Valley School district my whole life. My sister is a teacher in the district and my kids and her kids will both be in the district also. :)
My kids went to Chesterfield El. and my daughter went to Middle school East. Love the schools, great teachers. My son went to Chesterfield Elementary from k-5. He had no problems there. My daughter started there in 3rd grade. I did not know at the time she had aspergers syndrome. The kids did not accept her and the staff did not handle things very well. So if your child has no problems L'anse Cruese is a great school to go to. I don't know anything about Chippewa Valley but it looks like a nice school.
Good luck.
My daughter goes to Erie Elementary (Chippewa Valley) and I have had no problems. All of her teachers have been good and we have had absolutely no problems.

I have working within the L'Anse Creuse district at LC Middle School North and LC High School North.
They both seem like great schools. Yes all schools have problems and problem students but overall I liked the schools.
I have had little time within Chippewa Valley schools but I know some HS students and some admin people and they are great also.
Well I guess I'm no help! I guess both schools are good!
I do hope that this wont be an issue by the time your kids are in HS but there does seem to be lots of Racial Drama at Chippewa Valley schools.
Good luck with your choice:)
I graduated from L'Anse Creuse HS as well as my 2 sisters and my brother.
I know of people that went to Chippewa Valley and witnessed first hand alot of the inappropriate things that happened and stil happen within that district.
Yes, like others have stated...all districts have their fair share of problems. And it get worse and worse every year. I watch it on the t.v every day how 1,2,3 schools are on lock down or being dismissed for the day due to a threat of some sort.
I personally would not send my children to Chippewa Valley. I loved L'Anse Creuse. The only downfall is that the majority of the kids are spoiled. They dont have to earn anything cause mom and dad just hand it to them.
Its a difficult choice...I know...I've been there with my 5yr old. Good luck!!
I would go with L'Anse Creuse Schools. Personally I graduated from LCHN and my daughter currently goes to Higgins Elem. I believe that L'Anse Creuse sets high standards for their kids. I believe your child will do great in this district.
My children go to Ottawa Elementary in Chippewa Valley School district and I think it's great. I love the teachers and all of the staff. The only downfall is that this school district gets so little from the state for each student. You may want to look into that and also check out the MEAP scores. That also says a lot. Good luck!!!
Both are good school districts. Both have their advantages and disadvantages but overall, they are very similar. No matter which school district you choose you will just have to be an involved parent to maximize the advantages and minimize the disadvantages. Which schools are closer to your home so you could be more involved? Good luck and God Bless!
Hi S.,
My name is S. I'm a working mother of twin 3 year old twin girls. I have lived in the Macomb area my whole life. We currently live in the L'Anse Creuse school district and we are looking for a house closer to the north end of the district. I went to Chippewa as a child but graduate from L'Anse Creuse Highschool North. I feel that Chippewa is a great school district however, L'Anse Creuse is better. Since I went to both and have friends that graduated from Chippewa Valley Highschool I would recommend the atmosphere of L'Anse Creuse Schools better.
Hope this helps in making your decision. Either way you go your children will have a great education.
S.
