There are so many places in Scottsdale to consider. And it's easy to get to. Don't have an exact name for you but you can start a search there. I also hear fabulous things about Sedona.
Hi moms,
I'm considering a solo get-away in AZ that would feature yoga, hiking, great meals, massages and wellness type offerings. I would fly to AZ from So Cal, so something not too far away from the airport or easily accessible. Somewhere to recharge my batteries.
Can anyone make some suggestions?
And something that won't totally destroy the bank! Thanks!

The celebrity SD one is probably a little out of my price range. Also looking for a change of scenery and the beauty of AZ looks like a good fit.

Sedona sounds like exactly what you are looking for. It is about 1.5 hours driving from the airport, but the drive itself is beautiful if you are up for renting a car. I would also look at the Boulders in North Scottsdale, it is a little more desert-y and less city. The Sanctuary is lovely, too. You may also want to consider Tucson- you can fly right into Tucson, and they have some nice places that are again, more desert serenity, less easy access to fancy malls and restaurants. The Westin La Paloma comes to mind, and it is not crazy expensive.
Have a great trip! AZ does have some incredibly beautiful scenery :)
There's tons of resorts here in Scottsdale that offer all that and more, but they're all pretty pricey. I'd recommend Camelback Inn, Montelucia or The Royal Palms for a really great trip. We've just hit the end of summer pricing, but it's not high season yet so the prices are a bit lower still. You could check on hotels.com for deals or keep an eye on Groupon for a package.
I'd staycation with you, if not for my 3 munchkins. Have fun!!
Hello LeeLee,
I recommend you use the TripAdvisor website, where you can look at multiple spas with prices at the same time:

I've been to most of the spas mentioned below, and the ones like The Royal Palms and The Phoenician are uber expensive. The Sanctuary is stunning, but hiking around those parts is very dry and slippery, so be prepared.
Have you considered Palm Springs? There are some stunning places there as well.
Sedona would be my top of the list, but it's a good 2 hour drive from the airport, and it's worse during weekend escape times.
There's a fantastic place, Red Mountain Spa, but that's in Utah. And it's not a hotel, it's truly a spa and the healthy food is included.
Miraval is great and reasonably priced for what they provide.
Highly recommended!!
Arizona is certainly a change of scenery from California. Yes, Sedona is gorgeous, but there isn't an airport near by. Flagstaff is an hour away. I guess not to bad for a fun trip. Scottsdale is not too far from the airport, but you said you didn't want to break the bank. Those are the two great places that come to mind for Arizona.
One of my other favorites is Santa Fe NM. It is a 1 hour drive from the airport. The hotels are a hit and miss, but I pretty much know which ones are nice, as there isn't very much of an in between. I am certain they have yoga there, but the hiking will be serene, I can promise you will have great meals, and beautiful scenery. There is also great shopping and art everywhere. Both Sedona and Scottsdale are the same way.
Actually, if you are looking for serenity, which you didn't really mention, I think Sedona and Santa Fe are your best choice.
If you choose Santa Fe, PM and I will give you my opinion on the hotels.
Those are my 3 great places to go.
My husband's firm has hosted several meetings at the Royal Palms in Scottsdale, which another poster mentioned. There is hiking nearby and a nice view of Camelback. I did not use any of the spa services, but several other people did.
Why go all the way to AZ if you're just going to stay in a spa? There's that famous spa in San Diego, I can't at the moment recall the name of it, but it's one where celebrities go. Oh yeah, the Golden Door.
Is there such a thing as a spa that won't break the bank?
