Kingsland Mom Groups

I lead a young mothers group every Wednesday at Agape Christian Fellowship at 10am. We have free childcare and usually snacks. It's fun and encouraging. It's a mix of navy wives and just moms. Anywhere from 20 to 33 years old with 1 kid to 5 kids. It's a great mix and they are soooo awesome in helping and excepting one another. I know I lead it, but I they amaze me all the time at home much they care for one another and help them. Check it out if you want.

This is the exact reason that I came to the board myself. I do not know of any, but I have been thinking of posting on iVillage (or here) and seeing if anyone in our area would be interested in starting one... just something informal - no dues or anything. I tried the Kingsland Moms Club also, and found that most of the women there had been doing it so long that it had turned in to "a bunch of friends" which, of course is the point, but it was very difficult to get into that "circle". I went to two or three meetings myself and the only person who ever spoke to me was the president. It seemed a little "clique-ish" which I am not into. I have a seven y/o son and a 3 y/o daughter and would love to find something like that around here. For your child's age, I believe you still "qualify" for Stroller Strides... a group of new Moms with young children who meet to exercise and meet people as well as let the children play. I had asked about it about two years ago and there was no group here at the time, but now that there is, my daughter is too old from what I have read on the website for Stroller Strides.
Well, good luck in finding a group. I am still going to keep researching and if I find anything, I will post back here and let you know.

I have a 4 m/o girl and pregnant with my 2nd already. I was wandering if you found any groups. I am new to this and havn't visited any of the Moms club yet. Just looking to get out of the house.

hey, I live in St Marys.
I have a 18 month old son. I work full-time though. I get out of work at 1:00 PM on Wednesdays and my husband usually works on Saturday. I go to Agape but I work everyday so i misss ot on whatever is available here. I would love to get to know you more and see who else would join our own little group. maybe you already have one by now.

I know this post was from 2006 and I'm not sure how the Moms Club was in 2006 but I love the Moms Club of Kingsland. Very nice women...I've made some good friends. You come to what you want and you aren't made to come to anything you don't want to. I've been a member for about 8 months and I like it alot!
