Hi,
I used to go for 2 years with twins in which I was there nanny. I found it to be very fun for the children however kind of repetitive every week was my only complaint but the kids loved it they went from 1yr-3yrs old (now they are 4 1/2) and loved it, you get CD's to bring home which they still listen to now and know all the stuff to do with the songs when they were taught them in Kindermusik. I went to the one at Blair School of Music in Nashville.
Good Luck!

I did Kindermusik with my little boy when he was about 6 months old and loved it. It was a great time to be with other moms, get some excercise and let him have fun.
There was a set curriculum for the 6 weeks program and the theme was Old McDonald I think. We sang a lot of songs with them, helping them with the arm movements, etc. We danced around with them, skipping and holding them up in the air. We sat in a circle rolling balls back and forth, playing with shakers and tambourines. It was a great time. I'm a dance teacher, so I was pretty into it but my friend was a little more reserved.
It was a lot of fun though and my son seemed to really enjoy it.

I did Kindermusik with my twins, and they loved it. In fact, my friend who did the class with me is now an instructor and owns her own franchise in Orlando. The music is upbeat and fun, and it's a great workout for mom too! LOL Most classes offer a free trial so you can see if you like it. I highly recommend it.

Kindermusik is a great thing. I was going to do a class with my twins, however, the lady that taught it suddenly quit. I have many friends who did it though, and loved it. I don't know about with a five month old, but I know they start young. Good luck!

My child and I loved Kindermusik!!

We started at 6 months old and ended at 2.5 when she sort of lost interest. She is now 3 and is asking to go back again!

The Kindermusik program is great for mother and child!

Have fun!

Hello- Yes, I have taken my twin daughters when they were 3 1/2 to a class. They really enjoyed it. Since that time I have discovered "Nashville Music Playhouse". And to be honest, I prefer it. It is from birth to 5. Here is their contact information: They offer a free class so you can check it out before any comittment.

Both of my kids have done kindermusik and really enjoyed it. I started eachof them when they were about 5-6 months old. My 3 yr old daughter still takes it. My 5 yer old son doesn't anymore because it just doesn't work with his schedule.

The baby class (Village) lasts about 45 minutes. The teacher teaches songs and rhymes while the parents interact with the kids. There is a lot of dancing, swinging (sometimes) and bouncing on your knee, etc. Our teacher had a quiet time where she brought out board books for the kids to look at and a song where you got to rock your child. She even incorporated some baby sign language into the class.

Call the Cadek Conservatory of Music at UTC for a schedule. The teacher I have used is Anne Hendrix and she is great. Her Monday classes start next week (Jan. 22) and her other classes started this week. Good luck.

I have been to many classes with my little ones. I think they are great if you have the money to spend. It forces you to spend a set time with your child, gets them active, teaches them music appreciation and it's just plain fun!!! ;-) I started them at 2 1/2 because at least then I know they can have memories that can be shared. I do know they have sign language classes now too which is great to add-on. My 7 year old still remembers her teacher and the classes. My 4 year old wants to go back, but cost is an issue with us right now.

I have been to a kindermusic class, as well as, music together and other programs. They are great for young children. I also have friends that have done the programs and all have enjoyed them and glad they did them.

Each class has a book and music CD, so you can play the songs at home or in the car. Children love recognition, and come to enjoy the songs a great deal.

The teachers have small hand held instruments the children play use - and parents - like rythum sticks, egg rattles, velcro blocks etc. The children use the intruments with the beat for some songs, and clap or dance with others. The classes are tailored to the child's age group. My son loved them as a child and I belive learned a great deal while doing it and it was something fun to do as well.

I currently teach Kindermusik in Chattanooga. It is a great program. Different ages have different classes, as well as a Sign and Sing class for 6month olds up to three year olds. Feel free to email me with questions about it!!!
