I am sitting here trying to work, thinking about all the stresses that we are under currently. I am so overwhelmed right now with life and all those things that go along with it. It hasn't been a great year for us at all. Anyways, while I am getting a bit depressed about it all, I look up and see my 2 year old son just dancing away to some music on his show that he's watchhing right now. It automatically put a smile on my face. He loves to dance whenever there is music on. It just cheered me and made me forget my worries. So what has your child or children done today to make you smile and forget about things? Somehow they just know when mommy needs a laugh, huh?

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Friday!

The other day my daughter (4) got some plastic walmart bags and settled next to the toybox. Took one item out swiped it across the floor and said "Beep" then came the other "beep" and puts them in the bags. As all the bags start filling up she is having a 2 way conversation it went a little like this:
"My you have a lot of stuff"
Beep
"Yeah its for my kids, they are always asking for stuff"
Beep
"maybe you should start saying no"
Beep
"Yeah I should, i really need to save the money"
Beep
"yeah"
beep
This went on for quite a while. It was really funny just to sit and watch. Guess I need to start saying no is what I got out of the whole thing.

My son (3 1/2) was standing at the top of the steps this morning as we were loading everyone up to go to pre-school, daycare, and work.

He said "Mommy, I can't walk becuase my joints is hurting." in this sad little voice. I said "So I suppose mommy better come carry you since your joints hurt". He said the smallest "yeah".

I went to the top if the stairs, picked him up, and he buried his hands and face in my hair (which he has done since he was an infant). Then he just started to giggle. I asked what was so funny. He said "My joints wasn't really hurting, I just wanted you to pick me up so I could hug you. I tricked you!!!"

LOVE!!! Great way to start a day!

I listened to my daughter in her room playing with Barbies. Her one Barbie was the "mom" and the other was the "daughter" and the mom Barbie was lecturing the daughter barbie on leaving her clothes all over the room. Since she had just gotten a lecture on that last night, I found it funny to hear my words coming out of her mouth! I just had to burst in the room and give her a hug! And also remembered that they DO listen--and they mirror what you do and say, so watch what you say!

When I went in Hailey's room to wake her up this morning she rolled onto her back & pointed her chin in the air (with eyes still closed). I brushed the hair off of her forehead & she didn't move so I kind of rubbed her face tracing her nose, eyebrows, jawline, etc., before cupping her cheeks in both hands & kissing her on the forehead. Finally, she opened her eyes & smiled at me & said she loves how soft my hands are. She's such a sweet pea!

This didn't happen today but the other day we were on the way to pick my daughter up from daycare and we noticed there was a rainbow in the sky. I told my son to look out the window. He jokingly says "let me out so I can go get the pot of gold"..lol! We laugh and keep driving then he says "where does the pot of gold get moved to when there's not a rainbow"..lol! After we had a good laugh, we had to explain to him that there really isn't a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I think he was really bummed about it...lol! Poor kid - he loves anything to do with money so I think he really believed he could find some gold for us.

This is really silly to me but this morning as I am pouring my coffee in my travel mug, packing up lunch boxes to load the car before I load in myself and my 17 month old she looks at me and said, "I poop". I was such a proud Momma Bear that my little girl let me know she had done a two-sie so I cheered, hugged and kissed her, told her how proud I was of her and went ot change that stinky thing! What a fabulous start to my day! Silly huh?
Thank you bringing that smile back to me as I wind down my last 38 minutes of my work day! ;o)

these are more just cutsie things my 2 1/2 year old does randomly...

If he sneezes or burps he always says 'scuse me mommy' and when I say 'excuse you' he gets this look on his face and shakes his head saying, 'no mommy, scuse ME' so funny

He will be eating some animal crackers or his cereal and will come over and try to share and say 'here go mommy'. if I dont take it and say 'no thank you' he will look down, get a sad look on his face and act shy and stick his hand back out to give me the cookie and say it again.

I can't wait until the twins start saying cute stuff, for now what they will do is come running at me or my husband in their walkers and when they get to you they grab your hand and slobber all over it giving baby kisses and making loud sounds. too cute!

My 3yr old son is learning about opposites. The other day we were driving and we went under a train bridge and he says "the bridge is up. Up and down are opposites". When ever he points something like that out I always say "your right! Good job buddy!" So then I point one out to him about in and out being opposites. And int the same tone I would use, he exclaims "your right! good job mommy!". What a good boy. And last night when I was putting him in bed, he wanted me to lay next to him. I did, and as we were snuggling up he kissed me on my nose and my forehead. I sure do love my little buddy :0)

My daughter built a replica of her own bedroom out of a huge cardboard box. She drew art on the walls with crayon and made a ceiling fan, dresser, vase with flowers, headboard and a jewelry box all out of construction paper and glued them to the walls on the inside of the box. I was completely dumbfounded! She loves art and is extremely creative, but this totally blew me away. She is 5! I'm in awe of her. I guess it wasn't so much a funny thing as an astounding thing, but it sure made me smile!

DD had a rough night so I'm still in my pjs. Over the course of the morning I realized she was "gathering". She got an art apron. She got her stepstool. She got some bowls. Then she got into the fridge and was so upset that I didn't allow her to play with the eggs. She wanted to "cook for you, Momma." Aw.

If I wake her before she wants to be awake, she will exaggeratedly snore and ignore me, but that impish smile will creep out.

My 3 year old almost 4 year old has been on this kick of processing the one wedding picture we have on our entertainment center. Last weekend my husband and I took off for a wedding and the grandparents came to watch the boys. Apparently they talked a lot about this one picture.

So last night my little guy comes running up to me with this huge huge smile and said "Mommy you're so handsome"--I started laughing and said what makes you say that. "Because you have a fairy dress on and its pretty"... Made me smile and then I corrected him and told him usually 'handsome' is for boys and "beautiful" is for Mommies and girls. He then said "Ooooh then you are so beautiful and I'm handsome" --- I just grabbed that boy and gave him the biggest smoocharoo. So cute and so sweet--made my night for sure!

My son overheard a conversation with his speech therapist and teacher about going dancing to celebrate her b-day. She said her bf hates dancing so he wouldn't be going. My son told her "he should go it's your b-day". He's 5, guess he is learning early ;) the speech therapist e-mailed me to share the story.
Yes, they so find a way to make us forget the little things.
Happy Friday!

I was sitting in trough traffic and the kids in the back bickering and I was getting frustrated. My 4 yr old said in her tiny little voice. "Mommy you need a trick for this traffic." That's what she always says when dad does some evasive maneuver or cuts through a praking lot. "Daddys got a trick for this traffic."
