Keeping Kids Away from Radiators

Four days a week I take my boys and watch my 6 month old niece at their house. They have an old house with a steam heat system. Does anyone have ideas on how to keep the kids from burning themselves on the radiators? The radiators get really hot and I also worry that my neice, who is crawling, will fall over and hit her head on them. Any ideas would be great!

What can I do next?

Angie- We used to live in a house that had a big gas stove for the heat... my daughter was just crawling and it was the dead of winter and so my husband made a gate around it. We got some wire (it looks like chicken wire but it doesn't get hot) we build a gate all the way around it.. We made it with wood and then put anchors around it that way if she did push it, it wouldn't fall over! After a few days she wasn't even interested in it anymore.

I don't know if this advice will help..can you use a gate, similar to one used to protect kids from a fireplace. I'm sure it would be ideal for all the radiators in the home, but maybe it could work for one room where the kids can play.

Well way back when they used screens to put around them if they are the ones i am thinking of...I know they make gates that would work.

is the radiator in the main room? if not, try using a baby gate to block off the room that it is in. this will keep the kids away, but not block the heat.
