Can anyone recommend a good sunblock that won't irritate the skin. My daughter has the above condition and nothing helps but salt water. Any suggetions? Thanks.

What can I do next?

In our family we have a few people with sensitive skin issues and things that work are Nutregena, Burt's Bees and something (can't remember the name) from the dermatolgist. I'm not familiar with that particular condition, but I'd ask your derm what they recommend. My SIL has found that the special cream, I don't think it's Rx but just available at the office, is the best, but expensive.

My son had/has KP -- je's now 8 and it's now very minimal, but we've always like Aveeno or Nuetrogena sunscreens.

Hi
My son and I both suffer from this. Salt water is the best solution, and salt scrubs work well too. Also, a lot of moisturizing. I like sunscreens that are dye free (dont use the kiddie kind that are tinted), and for sensitive skin. Aveeno makes a good one. Good luck!

I don't have any specific information about your daughter's skin condition, but since you are looking for sunscreens, I wanted to share this link that gives sunscreens ratings based on ingredients. Apparently, not all sunscreens are created equally, some not blocking out the harmful rays that we use sunscreen for.

I hope that you find a good fit!

HI S.,

We use SunShades from Melaleuca, the Wellness Company. It's a microfine (and is clear) zinc oxide that is better than 45 SPF. Being zinc oxide it is healing as well. I can put it on in the AM and not reapply all day and it works good for me. I would always reapply for the kids and anyone with a skin condition (my oldest has vitiligo). They also have a spray on and an after sun lotion of aloe vera and vitamin E.

My niece had this condition as well. An absorbable multivitamin/mineral complex can heal it from the inside out. I also know a healing lotion that might help as well. Let me know if you're interested.

Hope this helps!
