Hello, so I have been prescribed Junel fe after being diagnosed with 5cm fibroid that were cause pelvic pain and back pain . I started taking them the first day of my cycle and the bleeding will not stop. It is going on 12 days! I called my gyno and she told me that this a normal symptom of the birth control pill and give it time to settle in my body. I can not take this anymore. Have anyone else experienced this? Did the bleeding ever stopped? If so how long

What can I do next?

Are you sure it’s your period and not the fibroid? Normal to bleed with fibroids. Keep in touch with your doctor and let them know if you also experience different symptoms. If you fill a pad / need to change it within one hour that’s too much. Maybe a different pill might also be better for you. Talk to your doctor. The good thing is your current pill has additional iron so that could be to help you if it is the fibroid bleeding.

Birth control pills take some time for your body to adjust to.
Like 6 to 8 weeks.
Now your bleeding should not last THAT long but you should keep in touch with your doctor.
The fibroid s might be making things a little tougher for you - but this should help shrink them.
Drink plenty of water, use a more robust pad or tampon if you need to.
If you are soaking through your pads - certainly talk to your doctor.
You didn't say how heavy the bleeding was - often it looks like more than it is.
A typical amount of blood loss during a normal period is roughly a few tablespoons worth give or take.
If we can donate a pint of blood every so often - a few tablespoons is nothing.
Hang in there!

if you can't take it, and you're not comfortable following your doctor's advice to give it more time, then find a new doctor.

After 12 days of bleeding on this pill my daughter stopped taking it. It took another 5 days for the bleeding to stop. (She was taking it for debilitating cramps and was only suppose to get her period every 3 months. This pill caused abnormal bleeding for her too).

I had a 10cm fibroid, and some smaller ones. They didn't cause pain for me but I did bleed excessively because of them.

Some BCPs can help with smaller fibroids, but some make it worse. I am not familiar with Junel but I think you should seek a second opinion. Also make sure that fibroid is being monitored for growth. They are easier to remove when they are smaller.
