Just Moved to Portland, Looking for Activities/classes/playgroups for Infant

Greetings! My family has just relocated to Portland, and we are thrilled to be here. We have a 10-month-old son and are looking to connect with other infants and parents. I work at home part-time and would love to have some activities to do with my little one and other parents and babies during the day. What suggestions do you have for playgroups, infant classes, or other activities? We will be living in close-in NE Portland (renting in Irvington but looking to buy in Hollywood/Laurelhurst area soon), so options near those neighborhoods would be especially great. Thanks so much for any ideas!

What can I do next?

Welcome to Portland! My husband and son (16 months)relocated here in June. It is such a wonderful area. We are currently in the Hillsboro/Beaverton area. I'm glad that you have put out this post, I'm looking for some good ways to get connected with other parents and their kids. Maybe we will cross paths along the way! I hope that you and your family continue to have a smooth and enjoyable transition. Also if you need any help finding your perfect home, my husband is a great realtor and is available to help in any way. His name is Stephen Brooks (with Keller Williams) and his number is ###-###-####.

Good Luck!
T. :)

Hi Juliet,
well, I live in Milwaukie- very near Portland- and I've been to Laurlhurst park twice. It's huge and very pretty. You might want to check it out if you move over there.
my son is two, and I'm a part time stay at home mom.

The Legacy Health system has groups for mom during the week, just look for the closest hospital to you. I have formed groups outside my weekly group with some of the moms there.

the website meet-up.com posts different kinds of play groups. Where we used to live that is how I met people the last time we moved. They would always meet in a public place. I think we have it in our area too. www.livegreeneasy.com
