I have a Bob Revolution. It has a swivel front wheel that can be locked for "real jogging" (which I don't actually do). I've had it for nearly two years, and I just love it more. I really use it for everything, as it can turn on a dime and maneuver around anything. My daughter's a peanut, but I've pushed a 45+ lb child in it around the zoo and it was wonderful. It's also nice on different terrain (sand, hills, grass, around Grove City outlets, lol). Anyway, yeah, it's great.
We get so much out of the Jeep jogger we got at Babies R Us. It has the steering wheel and horn for our son to play with and a music button too! Other children are always coming up to the wheel and turning it or pressing buttons. Our 19 month old has never had a problem being in his stroller because of the entertainment factor. Also, it has a turning front wheel that makes corners a breeze. The storage area underneath is huge (bike pump located here) and there are little saddlebags on the sides that are removable. We put trash in one side and extra toys in the other. It also has a cd player hook-up and great speakers. The cover is big and has the extra plastic hanging on the front for shade from the sun. I can't imagine traveling without it, whether it is to the mall or the woods. Good luck with your purchase!
We just purchased the In Step Run Around LTD on the Walmart website and LOVE it! I can't recall the maximum weight, but I definitely encourage you to check it out! I use it for walking with our 15-month old, and my husband uses it for running. It's great for both. Hope your search continues well! :-)
This is the stroller that I use.

It only got a B rating at babygaga.com, but I really like mine. Compared to the small-wheeled double stroller I had with my older boys, this one is wonderful! It's much easier to maneuver across rough terrain and I even had a successful trip with it at the mall when weaving around the clothes racks at Christopher and Banks. It has a swivel front wheel with option to lock.
When we were choosing a stroller we took a bunch of them on a "test drive" around the stores and this one was the one that won. :D
Hope that helps!
Hi K.,
My daughter is going to be 3 on May 29th and I found that the best running strollers to be the Jeep brand strollers and of course the McClaren stroller. They are the strollers with the one wheel in the front and the 2 wheels in the back...it is the ultimate jogging stroller.
I don't like jogging strollers as the front wheel doesn't turn. This may be a no brainer but I didn't know. Personally I like a light weight stroller.
I had a GerriZoomer (sp?) and it was great for walking! They are expensive, I got mine second hand and it was fine.
what ever you do, get one where the front wheel swivels. super important!
otherwise, you'll find it extremely annoying to have to tilt the stroller when you take a turn.
also, if your son is three, you're better off getting a used one from craigslist. once he gets a little heavier, jogging with a stroller with a big toddler is a real pain.
happy jogging!
I have the double Bob Duallie Revolution and love it. I am sure it is even better as a single.
The Babytrend Expedition found at Target for $99 is great. The wheel swivels or locks and for the price you'll get tons of use!
BOB has been a great stroller for our active family. We've used it from birth and expect to use it for a couple more years and several miles. It's very transitional, but still very, very durable. We use it for all of our purposes.
Our model has a pivoting front wheel (with option to lock) that makes it a breeze to manuever. REI and Bryn Mawr Running care it. You can look into their product online for other dealers. Highly recommend the investment!
i have found that the larger the wheels the easier they are to push though make larger turns. I also like the ones with a front wheel that can swivel, also makes them easier to negotiate with turns than the stationary front wheel.
I love my bumbleride indie stroller. It goes from infant to toddlerhood, with lots of included accessories to take you through all of the transitions (and seasons). Great one to think about getting, esp. if you might think about having another little one at some point...
Good luck!
We have the BOB. My eldest son is 38 pounds, and my 10wk old is 13 pounds. So together they weight over 50 pounds. All I know is that it has made my life so much easier. It is the best, it is so good, It just glides, it turns on a dime. I hardly push it and it has great breaks, it folds down very easy, the fabric is very durable. I take it everywhere, from walking, shopping, too vaction. It is my must have item. The model we have is the Revolution. So the front wheel is great. The downside to the stroller is it is heavy,(this could be becuase it is a double stroller) and I had to pay separate for each piece ie the snack try,(kiddies), my cup holders ect. I would go into a REA store and try it out. You will have to see for yourselve how wonderful the stroller is. My friends tried to tell me but they couldn't give it justice. The good thing is if you buy it at REI, you will get 10% back at the end of the year. Good luck, K..
