E.T.
I have a BOB and love it. I know it's pricey, but I think its worth the money if you are going to use it regularly.
I'm in the market for a jogging stroller. I'd prefer one that doesn't have a locked-in-position front wheel -- I want the wheel to be able to turn left or right without me having to pick the stroller up and move it. I don't know what all the "good" brands are for jogging strollers. My son is 10 months old and I'm ready (now that the ice is gone) to get out and get with my exercise program.
So, can you recommend one? What features do you HAVE TO HAVE on a jogging stroller?
Oh, and on the recommendations -- I'd prefer not to have to pay $400 for one, too! Ha!
Thanks in advance!!!
OK. so I got into looking at different varieties and reading the reviews on jogging strollers other moms had posted and the BOB seemed to have the most favorable one! So, I found one on sale for $290 and bought it! I can DO "290" :) I didn't want to do the $420 for the newest models that just came out. It'll be here in a couple of days and I can't wait! Thanks ya'll!

We just got a Bob too and love it. Our little one is too small for running still, but it handles wonderfully and had no problem with some snow and slush today.
Glad you were able to find one on sale, hope you enjoy it!
I would definitely get a BOB. The front wheel can swivel or be locked in place. it is super easy to maneuver. Definitely worth the cost.
I love, love, love my double BOB. I think I would have loved the single too, but I decided to spend the $$ on the double, so I waited. I used a different single that I got on ebay, and it was also great! However it DID have the fixed front wheel, and I hated that. You could look and see if the ladies on ebay are still selling Motobecane jogging strollers. They were inexpensive -$185 and the women who sell them participate in marathons and triathlons. Except for that front wheel, I enjoyed it a lot and didn't feel guilty getting the double BOB in a few years because it hadn't cost much.
ANYWAY -check that out, but the single BOBs also have the moveable front wheel. Actually you can adjust it to move or not move. The singles are less money, but still several hundred. Start hounding ebay and craigslist for them. You can often find good deals on gently used single BOBs in craigslist, but they GO in a hurry! If any churches or preschools around you are having consignment sales soon (March is HUGE for that here), check those too -but again, get there early. If you have a Plato's Closet near you, you may also find one there for $100-$200.
I've used my BOB for 2.5 years now almost daily. It's been to more music festivals, arts festivals, beach and camping trips than I can count and on so many walks and jogs. It's held up really well -no problems at all. They are heavy, but it adds to my workout (especially now that both kids + the stroller are nearing 100 lbs -pushing that up steep hills is great exercise!).
***Just saw your update -you're going to love it!
You want a swivel front wheel and an adjustable canopy. Don't forget to look on craigslist and at your second hand stores. You could find one for under $100.
