Just for fun, I'm curious what words your younger children say incorrectly that you may not want to correct them on because it sounds so cute and may be one of their last "baby" type things. My 4 year old has spoken like a little grown up almost since she was 2. She has only a few words she says incorrectly and I love them - she says "coming distractions" instead of coming attractions and "manaynayse" insted of mayonaise. And that's about it. Just wondering if anyone else lets these kind of words go uncorrected because they're cute and you know they'll correct soon enough...
I LOVE THESE! So hilarious...we have to keep these recorded so we don't forget :-)

My 2 year old says some of the funniest things right now
"Opi-Ops" are Lollipops
"I will help you" when he wants you to help him
"Fingies" instead of fingers
And most berries end in blueberries. He calls them strawblueberries, raspblueberries, and backblueberries. But this is an improvement he used to say boobies instead of blueberries. Think of him yelling that across the grocery store :)
I just can't correct these things yet, I love them!

Hi L.-
When my kids were younger, if I ever left them any where (sitter...my mom) when I came back I would always ask if they 'behaved'. Some how it morphed into me giving that 'mom' look at a situation, and they would say "I'm being haved mom!"
We still joke now (youngest are 14)...I often ask if they were 'being haved'...
Cute question

Made me smile to read this question as I remember my now 13 year old as a toddler. He use to say "ache" for rake, Ruh-ruh for his name (Ryan), and cah-dince-a-dence for coincedence (sp?). I know there is lots more, but this is what I remember for now. What a precious, precious time!

My daughter, from the time she was about 14 months, used to call her belly button her "metmo." It was so cute when she would point out body parts: "eyes, nose, mouth, metmo..."
And her favorite food is still "gaygoat" (yogurt).
She's now almost 2.5 and she only says metmo and gaygoat when she is repeating us. My husband and I will probably always call them metmo and gaygoat.

Our son was about 6 when he yelled at me that he wanted me to "stop watching so poppers" and read to him.
When my daughter was about 4 she said she was going to marry daddy and I said she couldnt cause he was already married. She replied " Im not gonna marry him on wheels, just retend!"
She also said she had friends who lived in "repartments instead of horses". Our grand daughter who is now 3 told me I was a bad grama and "Im going to put you in time out for free midgets"
She calls lollipop, "lollipuckles"
We really all need to write this stuff down when it happens cause I know there are dozens of things that made us laugh histerically, and now I cant think of many.
also, she spins around and around and then stops, sways back and forth and says "whoa, Im busy".. I just think to myself,, yes you are, and youre dizzy too,,lol

I love this question! We have really noticed over the last couple of weeks that our two year old doesn't say most of her cute little words anymore. She used to say "op ta pus" instead of octopus, but she has corrected that and I miss it!!
Some of my favorites right now are; she just started calling her baby sisters pacifier a "fire pass" and she is constantly asking "where'd all my guys go?" which can be refering to friends or family, whenever they are not around.
I need to start writing down all her little sayings so that I don't forget them!

My four year old is just starting to outgrow her "baby" talk--so sad! My almost 18 month old is just starting up though!
The four year old still says "cimmamin" for cinnamon, "topatos" for potatoes, "thweetiepie" for sweetiepie (it's what she calls the baby), and my favorite: "naloahleum" for linoleum!
My older kids had their own ones, of course..."lello" for yellow, "catpad" for carpet (no, we have no cats lol), "crocagator" for both of those creatures and "cwabbyappley" for crabapple.

Both my kids were very early talkers. I was always so crazy about correcting them and working on language skills that anyone could hold complete conversations with them and understand them by the time they were 2 years old. My favorite story is the reverse of all the ones you have gotten. My sister was babysitting my son when he was 2 1/2. They were coloring. She gave him a crayon and said "here, would you like the blue one"....he looked at her...puzzled and then said...."actually, Aunt Colleen, that is turquoise". She could do nothing but laugh, because he was right! LOL!

When my oldest was about 16 months we went to Hawaii and I wore flip flops all the time. When we were out shopping one day she asked for a pair of her own "top-tops" and I just *had* to get them for her :o) For the rest of the trip she'd stomp around in them and with each step say "top-top-top-top". She outgrew it around 3, but *I* still refer to them as top-tops sometimes! lol

Love this question lol.
My 4 yr old daughter doesnt say many "babyish" words (and hasnt really since she was about 2)...but I love hearing her say onions, which she pronounces "Yunions". Its so stinkin cute to hear her say, "No daddy, I dont like yunions!" Cracks me up every time lol.
My 2 yr old son doesnt speak that clearly yet, but some of my favs of his are....He calls his sister, Sissy but pronounces it Cici. & I love hearing him say his name. His sister nicknamed him Rain-Rain when he was born (she was 2 and couldnt quite pronounce Raiden yet). So, he calls himself "wain wain". My favorite of all though is probably how he says Dinosaur....Dinofaur. & he LOVES Dinofaurs, so we hear about them quite a lot! lol
I wish it was possible to keep them this little forever!

I don't coprrect my kids all the time anymore. One time we were ehlping out at school. My older kids were 4. My son's word was "helicomper" for helicopter. The teacher in the room with us told me that I should let him have his little fun words because they grow up so fast. And she was so right. My little one now says the word yes with her tongue between her teeth so sounds more like yeth but she also says it correctly so not a speaking problem. It is just the way she will tell you, as though you should already know that the answer is yes. She also says tisker for sticker.
All my kids call a slide a "wee-fun". When my oplder kids were little, the would say "wee" everytime so that is what it is called now. One day my little one said she wanted to go "wee" and now everytime we pass a park.

When my son started speaking he could not pronounce "M" & "P". My husband and I dreamed that we would be referred to as Mama and Papa but my son called us DeDe and DaDa. I was devasted, I felt like "Aunt" DeDe (not his Mama) in public. But now at age 7, although his speach is fine, I have accepted that we will always be DeDe and DaDa.
