I got my mirena out on thursday. Had light spotting afterwards. Does anyone know or have any personal experience when I can expect my first period? Also if you have a personal experience did you lose any weight after?

when i had mine out i had my period about 2 weeks later. thank goodness i got rid of that iud, i was having issues with it. i had the copper one and i didnt really notice much weight loss but my stomach looked flatter, (maybe it was making me bloated).
I got my period 2 weeks later...and then two weeks after that. But, after that it was normal, and then I got pregnant, so it worked like a charm for us!
The IUD only prevents implantation, not ovulation & periods, so its removal shouldn't affect menstruation. If it has a hormonal component, that's another story. There can be bleeding after removal which is not your period. I don't think there's a connection with weight, unless, again, there's a hormonal component.
I had mine out june 5th 2012. I had it since April 2008. I had spotting for a few days starting June 8th. Then I got a real period July 3rd until the 9th. I have lost almost 10lbs since that time. And after next cycle we are TTC.

It was about 4 months before I got my period back. I didn't loss any weight.
