Loved nuva ring...but ended up developing migraines and hormonal bc ended up being a trigger...until that....loved nuva ring.
So for anyone who read my post about out of control period... It was most likely not my period at all. My iud was half out already ( not even three weeks!) Causing the major bleeding, they had to suction blood out of my vagina and had to take it out... spent 5 hrs at the ER! Sorry TMI.. So next question, what birth control methods have worked for you guys? I am not good with the pills, and an IUD is obviously not in question anymore, not tryin that again, I don't need anymore trips to the hospital! Condoms are not the solution we are looking for...and tubes being tied and him being "fixed" is out of the question since we do want one more child in the future...Anyone try the nuva ring???

I don't have personal experience myself with the NuvaRing since I take Seasonique, however I have a friend who uses NuvaRing and loves it! She has been on it for over a year now with no negative side effects or surprises (knock on wood!). The only other BC method I've tried is the Depo-Provera shot, and I HATED it. Had side effects like crazy, no fun! The only thing with NuvaRing is you need to be on top of when to take it out and put another back in, otherwise you're leaving yourself open for failure! Good luck!
P.S. I noticed someone else posted something along the lines of, good thing they are still nursing so their period stays away, just wanted to mention nursing is NOT (!!!) a reliable form of birth control. Hormones are all out of whack and just because you are not having a period while nursing does not mean that you are not ovulating either. Had to get that out there :)
A lady I worked with got pregnant on Nuva ring. She is not sure if it was because she messed up using it or didn't wait long enough or what, but she definitely wasn't on it long before getting pregnant. I got pregnant using progestin-only birth control, so I wouldn't really suggest that (although maybe like the chip would be better since you don't have to remember to take it which is how I messed up with mine). I also had a friend get pregnant off of that though so maybe not so much. I'm starting to think that abstinence might be my best bet to avoid future babies so who knows haha
I had a friend who got pregnant on nuva ring with TWINS lol! Kinda scared me away from it :) Me and my husband are doing natural family planning now and its great... no crazy hormones and I know when not to surprise my husband lol! Sorry about the IUD had a bad experience myself and thats how I ended up with the natural method.
I am like you, hate pills. I don't like IUDs either, so I am thinking of trying a diaphragm, I am still nursing, but really it's like a free for all around here so we need to do something!!! Good thing I make tons of milk and my lil system keeps the period away;) But I can't nurse forever! Anyway, I like the idea of a diaphragm bc there is not hormonal side to it, it won't reduce sensation for either party and it is easy to put in and remove. So you might want to check into that, take care!
Good old fashioned condoms seem to work for us!
I am sorry you had a problem with your IUD! I had one and loved it! Once it was out I tried the Nuva ring and hated it! I tried the diaphram and hated that too. Ended up with my tubes tied.
My husband got a vasectomy.
Works great.

People are giving examples of the Nuva ring failing, but, really, any birth control has some error margin (except abstinence). Compare the pregnancy rates for different ones to say what is statistically safest.
Fertility awareness is a birth control that you could consider. Pregnancy rates vary since it depends so much on how well the person is paying attention to their own body. But in theory, if you're abstaining during your fertile time, it should be almost 100% safe. The thing that I like about that is you know without a test when you do get pregnant. (Once there have been 18 or more "high-temp" days after ovulation.)
I used the patch between my two kids only when I didn't get the refill done, is when I got pregnant.
My neice uses the nuvaring and has gotten pregnant and miscarried 2-3 times while on it. For some reason she continues to use it so I think maybe she just wasn't using it right. On the other hand, my sister-in-law has used nuvaring and has had no problems. I personally use the pill and have for about 17 years. The only time I have gotten pregnant is when I stopped taking them and I got pregnant very soon after stopping. I have had none of the weight gain or other side effects some women complain about. I recommend the pill.
I used the Nuvaring for years, best out of all I tried. I don't do well on hormones and since it doesn't go through your whole system I had a lot fewer side effects plus I can not remember to take pills at all. Like any other birth control you should use a backup for the first month to prevent pregnancy. With the Nuvaring you do have to remember to change it and put a new one back in on time to keep the protection. If you are not wanting anymore babies I might look into something more permanent. a friend just had that new procedure where they insert something in your tubes to block them and she loved it-personally unless I end up with a c-section for some reason with this one my dh is getting fixed :)
