Hey Moms!
My 4 yr old daughter is built. She is thick. Has a set of thighs. She just hit the 50lb mark. And is in the top 90th percentile on the charts. Having problems finding clothes that fit. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to buy some loose fitting pants?
I have bought some capris in a size 6, that do fit more like pants on her. Just hard to find. I have looked at some boys clothes, but obviously they just look to boy-ish for her. Prefer elastic waist. Loose fit. I can't be the only mom out there with this problem!
THANKS!

What can I do next?

Another mom posted something a few days ago that she was considering making plus size clothing for kids. You might want to search for that and contact her. If I can find the post then I will put the link on here.

IMO they should make all kids' pants, shorts and capris with elastic. My daughter has the opposite...to find things small enough for her waist they are highwater :-)

Sears and JCPenny seem to have the best 1/2 and plus size selection. My 8 year old is tall and pretty thick and completely off the charts so I can defintely relate to how frustrating it is to find that stuff that fits. Be sure to check out those stores as well as online and old navy has plus size online but it might not start until size 8. Good luck!

You can to to any dept store and they have a section on clothes that are plus sized. That will fit her better. That is what my niece wears. I got her some things at JCPennys.

Have you tried a larger size. The next size up may be too long but you can shorten them.

Sears has a "chubby" line. I think that's what it's called. I've seen the line in girl's sizes. I don't know at what size it starts.

My daughter has always been a little chubby and I've had this same problem. I wouldn't get customized clothes because that would get expensive. When it came to jeans and sweats I would go to target and get boy clothes. They actually carry husky jeans and they fit her great once I found the right size. As far as them being boyish it is all a matter of the shirt and shoes you put with them. It works!
I know it's hard now but my daughter just turned twelve and it has gotten much easier to find clothes that fit her.

I think Lands End sells plus size for kids but I am not sure for 4 year olds. Maybe since your child wears a 6. Good luck!

My daughter has always been on the chubby side. I've not found plus-size clothes in that size-range (my daughter is now 6), I just buy a bigger size. She is in a size 10 right now. We have a lot of luck with Children's Place clothes, Old Navy clothes, and SOME Target clothes. We never have any luck at Kohl's or Wal-Mart, those clothes never seem to fit her right. Just buy the stretchier fabrics, feminine cuts (like empire wastes), and trial and error, you will find things that look good. We always find something.

Good luck!

Landsend.com offers plus sizes for little girls. Big dogs has plus sizes from children all the way up. I've heard http://www.cuteasabug.biz/ can do them or custom them, I don't know I've never seen it. Hopefully these will help you out, I would think that the plus sizes would offer you that loose fit in her thighs and the same waist that she needs, ya know :o) You could always do custom clothes but that would get expensive

Hmm . . not sure but now I know I have to open up my business idea that I had for a class. I had to do a business plan and I decided to open a hard to find size store. Not just a plus size but tiny and short, tall and chunky, medium and thick, ect. My son is 30 lbs and 11 months old. He has always been a big guy and I have been having a really hard time finding pants that fit him along with his cloth diaper. It hasn't been fun. I feel your pain.

I would dress her in leggings and long baby doll tops. See what you find on mini boden website. For pants. buy a knitted material. google girls plus sizes and see if anything comes up. Good luck.

Alot of the stores offer adjustable waist, and im not sure what size they start, but if you can find the 1/2 sizes(6 1/2 etc,) that is plus.
Good Luck
