The real issue is the seatbelt law! I don't know about the trunk itself, but if you're not buckled in, that is a problem.
My husband has a Jeep Cherokee and his aunt is coming to town to visit. I have 3 kids which means I use the back of the car for car seats. I was wondering if I can use the trunk to ride and let his aunt be in the front, so I can be closer to my kids. I looked in the Colorado Laws and I didn’t see any law about that. I am not a teenager because I know that there some rules about teenagers. It would be too expensive for us to rent a minivan. Please let me know. Thanks

Sorry M. I don't know. But I wanted to say I think that is the sweetest thing. I can just see you sitting back, reaching over the seat. To keep them safe and just to be close to those kids. Who would have ever known we would love them soooo much. You never understand until you have one of your own. Just wait till you have grand children it is hard to believe but it is even better! K. K.
There is a seat belt law.
Plus, if you were involved in a rear end accident, you could be seriously injured.
I would strongly advise against this.
No seat, no seatbelt; you shouldn't be sitting there. If you really wanted an answer, you should call the sheriffs or the police dept.
Please don't let your kids ride in the trunk, weather there are laws or not. This is not safe. Just stay home or use two cars. This is so unsafe, imagine how you would feel if something happened.
