There is an app called AppAdvice that will give you that days free apps. Free is not a bad way to collect or try apps!
Just got an IPAD for the kids and I'm overwhelmed with all the options of what to put on it. Does anyone have any good suggestions for educational apps for the Preschool and Kindergarten age groups? My kids are 4 and 5. Thanks!

The nickelodeon drawing app is amazing. It is a little pricier, but totally worth it. So many great options that will keep them well occupied. Also perfect for practicing writing their numbers and letters and they can then decorate them for some added incentive.
Educreations is a reat App for you to use with them. You can record what you're drawing and play it back (add clip art etc). We play school together.
We download free Apps and delete when they get old.
I think the only App I dont regret paying for was Park Math.
Top hits for my kids;
Paint and Learn
Music Sparkle
Sock Puppets
Yabber
Barbie I can be
Abby Match
Pepi Bath
And for games(the games can be skill builders too);
Toca Monsters
Talking Ben
Another vote for monkey math. My 3 year old loves it.
Check out appshopper.com. THey have tons of free apps every day.
my kindergartener likes monkey math, i cant think of any off the top of my head. if they are free just download them and if they dont like them delete them. there are a lot out there but it doesnt hurt to try them. They mostly like the food making apps, and other games
