M.W.
My aunt's eldest child attended Toler K-5 & his little brother is now a first grader there & she loves it. She's VERY active & knows the principal & teachers personally. I'll be happy to pass on her email address if you'd like? PM me, if so.
Seeking advice about the following schools, whether good or bad.
I'm trying to choose a school for my daughter to attend first grade at next year and I've been told these certain schools still have seats available. She attended a private Kinder this year that does not have a first grade.
-- Toler
-- Couch
-- Shugart
-- Carver
-- Club Hill
-- Nita Pearson
TIA for any advice! : )

I taught at Toler and there are some wonderful teachers there. :) They just got a new principal, so I can't tell you much about her. The asst. is sweet and supportive. I know the asst. at Club Hill. He's great, but I don't know much about his school. If you go to this website, you can see more about the schools. (ie) test scores, teacher experience, teacher and student makeup (ie) m/f and ethnicity, ratios, number of students, and more.

Type in the school's name. I think Carver just opened this year so their scores won't be up. Now keep in mind, schools are so much more than their scores. I just thought you might want that info. I suggest touring each school and getting a feel of the campus. call up to the office and set a good time.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you need anything else!
Carver and Peason Great Schools! I have worked in Gisd for 5 years and all over as a substitute. Couch is my third choice. Pearson has a great assistant principal Mr. Stav! He is awesome... Good luck
