Hey, just wondering what infant car seats you mommas recommend for our new baby girl. We will only buy the Britax brand of convertible seat, but wasn't sure what was the safest and easiest infant car seat. Thanks! Gotta figure this out soon, our little girl will be here by Dec 19th!

What can I do next?

I have to go for the GRACO travel system - I had the days of hunny travel system for my little one three years ago, and for price, easy to use and comfort/safety I found it the best all around.....

I hope this helps....

I have the Britax Decathlon. It is bigger than most the other Britax carseats, so you would have to check to see if it would work with your vehicle. If I am not mistaken, it goes up to 64 lbs. It has a lot of padding that can easily be removed or adjusted to fit the needs of your child. I found that it wipes clean with a damp cloth. The safety harness does not get twisted like other brands. It has the latch system that is the easiest thing in the world to use and adjust. It takes not time to move the car seat from one vehicle to another. Ours has a nice recline feature. We won't use any other brand other than Britax also. The reason we purchased the larger one is so we wouldn't have to buy another one for a long time. My son, now 1, has no trouble sleeping in it. His head does not end up in an awkward position like other seats. It has raised sides, so I feel that his is well protected. Whatever model you choose, you will be satisfied!

I have the new Graco ummm...SOrry ot sure but it goes up to 30 lbs, so she should be able to ride in it until her 1st birthday or longer and then move to a rear facing convertable, we keep our kids backwards for over a year.

The real questions is what carseat fits best in your car. YOu may need to go to Babies R us and try a few out in your car to see what fits best. You wnat one that is easy to install and is properly buckled in and works with yoru car over anything else.

All car seats have to pass the same safety standards. I like the Graco infant seats though. I think they have a wider variety of patterns to choose from and my son always seemed very comfortable in his. I'm getting another for my next baby...I sold my other one with the stroller thinking I was done for awhile, then surprise!

I've also heard good things about the Evenflo Embrace infant seat. Apparently the "Z-shaped" handle makes carrying the seat a lot easier.

I highly recommend the Baby Trend Flex-Loc (or the Rigid Loc - both are good). We had the LATCH-Loc, which is now the Rigid, when my daughter was born 3 years ago, and it still gets the highest safety rating from Consumer Reports. Plus, it has a taller than average height limit, and a higher than average weight limit. My very-tall daughter would have been out of a regular Graco Snugride by 4 months, but she was in this seat for nearly 8. I'm about to have our second, and we bought another Baby Trend for this baby. I love it!

OK, I'm here to tell you about what NOT to get. I have one child. He is 6 months old. I went for what I liked as far as how cute it was along with the safety...I got the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP because I loved how it looked and it was safe also.

But, I have found now that it is way heavier than most even without the baby in it. I recommend when you go look at infant carriers to carry it and see how heavy it is. He is little, but it still weighs a TON!! :)
