Go to one of your little independent jewelers on the square. You know, one of the little small town jewelers that is owned by one person, not a chain. I bet they do that there in their shop.
I'm looking for an independent local jeweler to resize my wedding ring. I had a baby 4 months ago and my ring still doesn't fit, so its time to resize. I don't like the thought of sending it out, due to it being a family heirloom as well.
So does anyone know any place that does good work, has good prices, and doesn't send their work out?

Mullns Jewelers on the square is a family owned business and they do their work in house. But I would still wait till about 1 year after baby to resize. You are still swollen, your probably not back to your usual size and if you are breastfeeding your body is holding extra fluid to make breastmilk. About 1 year out is my suggestion. You could buy a cheap wedding band to wear until your ring fits you!

Since being married, I've had two babies and my rings have been sized either up or down 3 times! =0) Even though I live in the boro, I always go to Ronquillo's Jewelry in Hickory Hollow mall. It's literally the ONLY time I'll ever go in that mall anymore. But, he has been there for as long as I can remember. It's him, his wife, and his grandson. He does ALL his work right there on site and the very, very best part is that he does it right there while you wait! It takes him about 10-15 minutes to size my wedding bands. He will size it and get it cleaner than ever. My ring & band are sautered (sp?) together (which he did for me as well!), so it's actually considered two rings and it costs about $40-$50, I think. I love him and my family uses him as well. He's on the corner of the food court across from that video arcade. Tell him you were referred by someone who has been using him for years and maybe he'll give you a deal! =0)
Go talk to Lisa Halliburton or Greg Tidwell at Bell Jewelers. I would trust them with my family heirloom. Bell Jewelers is a family business that has been in Murfreesboro for over 100 years. Here is a link to their web site:

You've already gotten some great suggestions, but if Nashville is more convenient for you, there's a jeweler in Nashville, by Lipscomb University, that is a small, family owned shop. They've done beautiful work for me in the past.
It's Draper Jewelers on Granny White Pike.

I agree with the other posters, you ought to wait about twelve months after your baby's birth to have your ring sized.
Good luck!
