In school are the kids not allowed to have printed work lessons. All my son is getting is hand written work lessons by the pre school director.

What can I do next?

I have a Master's in Early Childhood Education and worked in pre-schools for many years and can tell you that "worksheets" are considered developmentally inappropriate for preschool children and younger. Worksheets and coloring pages create too many restrictions and ideas of "right and wrong" during a time of development when children need to develop creative and problem solving skills. Until children can read and follow directions on worksheets with minimal assistance, they are not appropriate. I'm glad to hear that your director is not automatically falling back on the "easier" choice of worksheets, it shows that she knows what she's doing and values your child's growth and development.

It's inappropriate for any preschooler to be getting any written work!
