T.,
I also see Dr. Beckford. She is WONDERFUL. In fact everyone in the office is wonderful. One time I had to wait because Dr. Beckford was running late, but that was one time.
Dear Mamasource Moms,
In need of pediatrician accepting new patients. Prefer a doctor with great children skills and NO hour long waiting periods and separate waiting areas for sick and well baby visits in or near the Austell area. Thanks.

My 6 month old daughter has been going to Cobb Pediatrics since she was one week old and they are great so far. When I go in for check ups I never wait more than 5-10 minutes (if that). They have separate well and sick child areas. Dr. Desai is my doctor and he is always wonderful and patient with any questions and concerns I have. I have also seen Dr. Sherry and she is good too. The office is located on Mulkey Road in Austell off of Austell Road. ###-###-####
WE have a great pediatrician in Austell. Her name is Dr. Avril Beckford at Pediatric & Adolescent of Cobb. Phone# ###-###-####. Waiting times have varied for me, it has been LONG a few times.
Dear T. -
I take my son to Wellstar Pediatric and Adolescent Center of Cobb at 1810 Mulkey Road (behind Wellstar Cobb Hospital). For well-child visits, we see Dr. Avril Beckford, who is absolutely lovely, and for sick visits, I'm totally fine seeing anyone who is available - MD, DO or Nurse Practitioner. They also have a location at Cooper Lake and East-West Connector - it's almost brand new, whereas the Mulkey office is older. They do have separate waiting areas for sick and well children, and I never have trouble getting an appointment. The wait time is usually pretty reasonable, but I think the last time we had an appointment at the end of the day, we had to wait awhile. I think it's sort of like the airlines - if you get in early, they haven't had time yet to get behind, but once they get behind, it's hard to catch up. Here is a link to the Wellstar site and the page about this practice.
