I think i have the worst problem with shaving my legs, When I shave ny legs the hair starts coming in the next day and I can't shave everyday because I will start to get razor burns and bumps,I also have a lot of ingrown hairs.I feel like I am a child and I don't know if I am shaving right. I come from a family who never had to shave but with my luck I do. Does anyone have any advise on how to keep my legs feeling smooth and free from hair longer and how to stop these in grown hair?

What can I do next?

I have a friend with this problem and I used to work at a salon where we sold a product called TendSkin. I recommended it to her and she's been using it for years and can't live without it.

I googled it here's a site : http://www.tendskin.com/tendskin.htm

Works like a charm and a lot of estheticians use it also.

Good Luck.

I get waxed!
love it!
"does it hurt?"
I'm so used to it that I would say "no"
it takes some getting used to, but once you start waxing,
the hair comes in softer/lighter so that it gets easier each time
depending how hairy you are, you can just get part of your legs done- me, I get my 'lower leg' done- thats the knee & down (they even get the hair on your feet, eeew, too much info, lol!)

My sister-in-law has that issue as well, and she started using that Veet shaving system a while ago (havn't seen it in the stores recently though), Nair has one as well, where you use a cream on your legs let it sit for a few mins (about 3 she said), and you use a plastic piece, that looks similar to a razor, to remove the hairs. She says the "shaveless" systems is better for her because she does get shave bumps, ingrown hairs, and she has sensitive skin, and it has really helped her. Perhaps that will help?

It could very well be the razor you are using. I too have to shave my legs daily. I can't use those disposable ones more than twice. They seem to get rusty and cause terrible razor burn. Try the schick quatro for women. It is a little more expensive but works wonders and last ten times as long. And you may want to use a different shaving cream. I use soap with that razor and don't get burns. It is a great razor! Hope it helps!

Hello:

I had the same problem with my bikini line. I started going to a salon that does sugaring (like waxing but it is not hot and won't burn your skin) and i never get any ingrown hairs. I definately recommend that you try it.

I would suggest to start getting Waxing done, it takes longer to grow back and you will not get the ingrowns that you are having. Before you do waxing do exfoliate with a good body scrub, it will remove all the dead skin and you will get
much better results from the wax. If you are looking for a salon for waxing you can call me at ###-###-####, I also offer
deep cleansing facials at the salon and they also do nails, hair services and threading. You can look up my website at
www.beauvisageinc.com. The wax that I use is not a hot wax, our wax is a Lukewarm wax with paraffin in it so it wont burn your skin.

A couple of things I have heard/learned along the way. 1)if you can exfoliate your skin, particularly where you tend to get the ingrown hairs, before shaving, after, etc, this can help minimize them. Also, 2) rinsing your razor off after each pass along your leg can help too. Those are the main things I've learned. And don't pick at them when you get them! Sorry I don't have more help...just a little bit here!

Use a sharp new razor more often and exfoliate alot. Use bath gel or conditioner on a wash cloth and gently massage your legs. Also shave upwards. From your ankle to Knee. You want to shave against the direction of the hair growth.

Try a new shaving cream. If you are shaving with soap, soap can cause this.

Okay I get this problem from time to time, so here's what I do to ward it off. PS, if you are going to the beach shave two days ahead, because it will burn like crazy with the salt water.

Anyway, use a bath oil in the water to soften your skin and hot hot water. Then soak for about five minutes, then use a bath soap suding up as much as you can before you shave. Then soak a bit more.

It may give you a two day break, maybe longer. Otherwise it's probably a wax or lazer job. Good luck!

heya K. ~ my easiest advice for you is to try a sugar scrub!! Here is a link to one of my favorite's ~

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=53073&section_id...

if that doesn't work just let me know... anyhoo ~ you can find LOTS of different types like this out there this is just a fav. Its great to use before you shave because it is an exfoliate ~ it leaves your skin SUPER smooth afterwards too :c) Most of us have to shave at least every other day ~ depending ~ so the only other way to get around that is waxing...you might also want to try switching your shave lotion/foam whatever you use ~ to something more natual :c) ~ I personally cant stand those foams & gels that ya buy at the store ~ they dry your skin out & have nasty chemicals :cP ~ Kissmyface.com has an awesome shave lotion ~ its $13 or $14 but will last for a good 6 months!! ~ good luck ~ peace W.
