We went to Sleepy's (I don't know if you have them up there in MN) and fell in love with a King's Down. I know- I had never heard about it either. It is like sleeping on whipped cream! We have a firm mattress with a very plushy pillow-top.
I'm shoopping for a new mattress and let me tell you, if you haven't done it recently, wow! Lots of choices! I would love to hear your feedback on your mattress experiences....really good or bad. We've had a simmons beautyrest for 10 years and it's had it's better days. We've been pretty happy with it...but the choices from 10 years ago have exploded...memory foam, latex, individual pocketed coils, air beds..... We've been out shopping, laying on bed after bed after bed...they all start to blend after awhile! Thanks for sharing!

Just don't get a pillow-top. We did, and I now regret it. You can't flip it over, and you will get two body-shaped dents in your mattress.
We have an Ethan Allen pillowtop mattress---absolutely wonderful. We bought it 7 years ago and it's in mint condition. It's not cheap, but it's worth every single penny. I have not found any other mattress even in a hotel that is as wonderful as mine is. Please go to your local Ethan Allen and check out there mattresses before you make a final purchase.
Good luck:)
This is good:
the brand "Aireloom"
http://www.aireloom.com/home.html
all natural handmade beds, organic, green product.
My friend has one and said it is well worth the price. She had had body pains from scoliosis and hip pain and back pain and shoulder pain. Now she does not have any pain. Due to this bed.
or "OrganicPedic." mattresses and pillows.
Almost a year ago, we bought a Novafoam bed from Costco. (We wanted a Tempurpedic, but that was way out of our price range!) Anyway, it has been fantastic. After having had a "traditional" mattress my whole life, I couldn't believe what a difference there was in the memory foam bed. It is much more supportive. Also, the newer ones have been improved with some kind of gel (?) that keeps them from feeling hot, like I've heard the old ones do. Ours is not hot at all, and I sleep really well on it, and fall asleep faster as well.
I have a Serta perfect sleeper with the memory foam topper built in. I love it. Still the next one may be a Tempurpedic.
Savvy rest all natural latex mattress. Made up of layers of latex so you can customize it. We love ours and it's nontoxic!
have you ever tried a waterbed?...cant sleep on anything but-so warm in winter, cool in summer, warms up those sore body parts, goes with the contours of your body...just love it...:)
We have had a sleep number bed for about 6 months and we both tend to sleep very well on it. It took some getting used to and at first I thought we'd made a huge mistake, but once you find your right number and get used to things, its great! I used to toss and turn a lot at night but now I go to sleep and wake up in the same position I was in having slept all night long. Very restful sleep.
Most of our mattresses are Verlo mattresses, and I cannot say enough good things about them. The bed I am sleeping on now, I have no idea what type mattress it is, but I have a foam topper on it from Kohl's that I would take with me if the house was burning down ( I Love it that much!!!!) slight exaggeration but you get the point = )
Sleep Number- LOVE IT!!
just got a Spring Air at Schneidermans and love it!! They had a 40% off deal going. It is spring but has memory foam in it. We didn't like the sleep number or tempurpedic. neighbors just got the exact same one as well after we told them about it
I have always loved my pillowtop. Time to buy a new one too!
temperpedic rhapsody 100%, all the way...best mattress i've ever owned!!
