I am 38 weeks pregnat.this is my 4th pregnany. i was induced with my first 2 and had a complete SVD with my third Tuesday night i went to the ER with some brwonish red discharge . the nurses checked me and i 4 cm and 70% effaced. dr ordered me to stay overnight to keep an eye on me. By the next morning i was still at 4cm but 90%. I was having steady contractions during the night and the following day. my dr later came in to check me . My bag was bulging but he didnt feel comfortable breaking my water due to risks of the umblical cord coming out first cause my baby isnt far enough down in the birth canal. So he sent me home and practically put me on bedrest. Well as of yesterday morning i have had bloody mucus and pressure down there. Should i go in or wait til something else happens?

What can I do next?

I'd go check it out. It can't hurt anything for you to go get checked right? It won't be dangerous?

If this is serious I'd say they should put you in and do a C-section and get that kiddo here safely.

It sounds like your circumstances have changed since you were sent home. Call the doctor and if you cannot reach him, call the hospital, or go into the ER.

I lost my mucus plug first thing before I felt the contractions coming on.
But it was still 36 hours before our son arrived.
I stayed at 3 cm for like 28 hrs and breaking my water (they did it) did not seem to help speed things up.
If you're in labor or are trying to get it to progress, they usually tell you to walk walk walk, do some stairs up and down and walk some more.
Being upright and moving can help the baby slide further down into position.
Taking a shower felt great.
My dr said to call his office back when the pains were 3 min apart.
The nurse talked to me on the phone and when I couldn't talk through a contraction is when they told me to head for the hospital.
I only have one son.
Generally the more kids you have the faster they can come because your body knows what to do.
Stay in contact with your doctors office.

Call your doctor and ask for their professional opinion. That is the smartest and safest thing to do.

You haven't said if this is your first birth or 5th, and believe it or not, that can matter a little. Not necessarily indicative of anything, but you would have more of a baseline to gauge things yourself if you had experience with this vs it being your first go-around.

Call your doctor and ask. They are experienced with judging the condition of a woman in labor based even on their ability to speak over the phone during a contraction. They do this for a living. Call. They will have a paging service if you don't have your doc's direct number. And they will call you back.

welcome to mamapedia!!

I'm sorry - this is a question for your OB/GYN - call them - even if it is 4AM - your condition isn't the same as it was when you were released. This is your 4th child, you're not a new mommy. What's so different about this one??

If you are still having contractions that are stronger? I would just GO to the hospital.

I lost my mucus plug weeks before I gave birth. I was on bed rest as well.

If you feel there is danger - call 9-1-1 and have them take you to the hospital via ambulance.

Good luck and congrats!!
