How about a nice pair of inexpensive slippers and some body lotion. You could also throw in a low price movie if you know what kinds she likes as well as some popcorn and bottle of soda, juice or whatever. Add some candy bars too for fun.
Hi there moms! My neighbor is having some minor surgery tomorrow. Her parents came into town to help with kids, meals, etc so the basics are covered. I'm wanting to give a gift basket of fun stuff to help while she recuperates. I'm on a bit of a budget and need to stay in the $15-20 range. So far I've got homemade cookies and a magazine. What else might be nice? Thanks for any suggestions!
Thanks for all the great tips! We ended up putting cookies, muffins, little bottles of lotion and bodywash, sudoku book, couple magazines, fresh flowers, and a "get well soon" balloon (which I know the kids will get more use out of!) in the basket. I appreciate all the help you gave!

Coffee or tea, nail polish, rent a movie, free homemade dinner, socks, stationary.
It sounds like you want a gift basket your neighbor will appreciate while she is in the hospital and if that is the case, Lotion, candles, chocolate, herbal tea
When I was on bed rest I loved the taste of something sweet (like your cookies), healthy snackes, many things to read (easy reads, magazines, crosswords, sudoku), a funny movie, stuff to scrapbook, cute PJ's, and good smelling lotions and candles.
(I was on bedrest for 3 months with my first baby, so I stayed as busy as possible to keep from going stir crazy.)
Hi,
Well I love the dollor store for stuff like that. You can find all kinds of good, cheap stuff. I would put a candel in the basket. If she likes candy that would be nice. Cross word puzzel. Maybe a movie. The possibilities are endless. Good luck and have fun with it.

How about some feel goods from the drug store, a tube of plain burts bee's , some hand or body lotion, some little candies?
HI K.,
You can also add a stuff like tissues, mirror, lipgloss, nail polish, hair bows, creams, hair brush just different things that us ladies use on a everyday base Good LUCK ...

Something I have received before that turned out to be a great gift was a sheet of stamps. You could pair that with some pretty stationery if your budget allows. Often in these situations, a person will get flowers, gifts, and get-well wishes from different people and want to write people to thank them or provide updates on how they're doing. They may not have stamps handy and getting to the post office can be inconvenient right after surgery.
my neighbor was recently diagnosed with ms, and we did up a gift basket for her. here are some inexpensive ideas: cute socks to keep her feet warm (you can get them at the $1 rack at target or at the dollar store), peanut butter crackers to snack on, bottled water or fruit flavored water, crossword puzzles, i can get you a home interiors catalog to put in the basket, too, for free, if you'd like, fruit snacks, an apple, trial size lotion, kleenex, etc. hope that helps!
Include books, crossword puzzles, snacks, candies, chocolates, soups...basically a bunch of things she'll need and appreciate while she is recovering. I am sure that anything, no matter how big or small, will show her how much you care for her.

If she is bedridden:
- Book of Sudoku
- lotion
- bonny bell chap sticks
Put a coupon for a home cooked meal that she can redeem after her parents leave. Just because she has meals now doesn't mean she won't appreciate one in the future. It may take her a while to get back into the swing of taking care of all the family needs.
Get her a paper back book or if she can log into her library and put books on hold, you can pick them up for her.
Visit her. It's gets very boring looking at the same 4 walls. I was 16 weeks on bedrest and hardly had any visitors. I felt so cut off.
Things that helped me...thank you cards, simple grocery stuff like Kleenexes, lotion, nail polish, etc.
