Just went to Pinterest and put fundraising ideas in the search bar. 2 solid pages of ideas. Some great ideas. Good luck!
I need ideas for a fund raiser. During a community day in a small town, we want a booth/tent/area with a fundraising theme. I've thought of collecting food/donations for a local food bank but no one will want to carry cans around town to find our booth. (sell can goods for them to put in the Red Wagon?)
I've thought of giving away cold water (disposable water bottles are a big no-no) and having a donation giant water bottle with lots of information posted around it about our project to provide clean water supply to towns suffering from contaminated water, something along the lines of clean water for all, without wasting water. Any ideas for something fun, and easy and successful?

Who is "we"? A class? A church? Community group? There are different ideas for each age level.
Pick a theme and make a basket to raffle off.
Ask local business to donate gift cards, ticket for events and services
Raffle those of. All local businesses to donate a portion of their nights sales to your group. Lots of chain restaurants will do this.
Topless car wash? I kid I kid
I hate Inbev but they have carried on the clean water spirit of AB. Other than contacting them for help if anyone has an iPhone, get a square. That way you can swipe donations. Then you set up whatever, say buy a sack of groceries and set a price, then swipe.
I don't understand what type of group this is trying to fundraise. Are you also 501c3?
Silent auction/Online auction. Our elementary school has one each year and raises no less than $12,000. Great opportunity for people to donate and get tax deductions and people purchase and get tax deductions. Our school runs the auction online ( more people see it and have opportunity to participate from their own home vs a one night affair). Our school does this through ( biddingforgood.com)
We go to many functions where water bottles are provided with specific donors for labeling. I suppose of water bottles are that offensive, set up a water station with cups.
Raffles can be effective as well as write a check campaign.
Good luck.
Your water theme is great. I am just trying to think of a way get generate money. Your ideas are caring and match a theme, yet not money makers. People like the chance of winning big and are willing to give a buck or several for the chance. The canned food is nice, but they need to remember the cans from home and it can get heavy for your team to leave with all the food. A food barrel at the entrance is a good idea as someone suggested. it should not be your main money maker though.
Can you have a raffle? Find out if there are restrictions for raffles/prizes for this fundraiser. (these are my favorite for raising money).
1. People can buy a ticket for a prize (usually donated and popular). The prize can be a Lego set or an american girl doll. Some places have iPads yet you will need to price the raffle ticket higher ($20?). The tickets can be $5 each or 3 for $10. You can have less expensive prizes and the raffle ticket can be less $. You get the idea and need to know how many visitors (if you only expect 10 sold tickets then you need to rethink the prize). If you need a theme, think children in foster homes (toys are related to children).
2. You can set up a basketball hoop and have the kids make a basket for a small prize (lollipop or sticker). They can have 3 tries for $1. Each person that makes a basket will be entered to win a grand prize (something donated). If you need a theme (girls and boys club or childhood obesity).
For me the vendors are a lot of work. They need table space, may complain that they are next to a competitor vendor (3 mary kay ladies all want to participate how do you pick?), complain they are in a low foot traffic section, some will leave early and could cause a domino effect (so strict rules need to be agree a pond).
I have done this and it is highly successful. Invite home business persons: Mary Kay, Tupperware, Avon, Pampered Chef etc. only one rep from each company. They donate 10% - 20% of all sales generated that day.
You can set up a Facebook page to coordinate the event. You invite everyone on your friends list and your friends invite everyone on their friends list, each vender invites all their friends and the fundraiser can snowball faster than you think.
As far as a food donation, get a barrel or big box and set it up by the entrance. Advertise 'food donations - people or pet. You can then distribute to local food banks and animal shelters. Some people would rather give food donations to animals than to people.
Why not have a water dispenser and paper cups? They can get a drink and refill as much as they want. Plus if you have a 3 sided display they can stand and read information on what ever you want them to see.
