I Pod Touch

Each time Apple updates the iPod, it becomes a new "generation" of iPod. So the higher the number, the newer it is. Since iPods take pictures, videos, and you can store movies on them, as well as music, it may be worth it to get more GB. My daughters each have an iPod touch that their grandpa bought them for Christmas, and they use those things ALL THE TIME. They play games, they listen to music, we have a bunch of movies that we've downloaded to their iPods (most DVD's or Blu-Rays now come with a copy you can upload into your computer, then download to an iPod - this is great if you take road trips! Keeps the kids happy for HOURS! ;) When they opened their gifts at Christmas, I thought to myself, what in the world will the girls do with these things? Well, now I know! These things might as well be permanently attached to their hands!

Get the 4th generation. There are only 4 generations for the I-Pod Touch. The other I-Pods have more generations. And I would get at least a 16 GB. They are awesome. I got one for Christmas and my kids both fight to get to use it. That's probably Christmas this year LOL

My daughter just got one for her 10th birthday. They are so expensive so we had to go with an older model so hers does not have a camera.

I went with a 32 GB and I'm glad I did. She wanted movies on hers and they take up a lot of room. It's about half-full now and she just got it. So I'd say minimum of 16 GB, but 32 if you can afford it. We got a refurbished model from Apple with a 1-year warranty for under $200.

I like how they have controls on them for parents. I turned off the internet (because she could surf the web and see ANYTHING she wanted and that's not a good thing) and I turned off YouTube. I also put the guidelines of the ratings for movies, apps and songs. She can't play explicit songs on her iPod, they just don't show up. The controls are locked with a password. I wanted to maintain good control over it!

She loves it! I know she wanted a camera on it, but she has a camera on her cell phone. I wasn't about to spend an extra $100 for a new model with a camera when she already has a camera, a video camera and a cell phone!

Just make sure you get a tough rubber case. Hers has been dropped several times, and I suspect more will happen!

We gave my 5 (soon to be 6) year old one for Christmas this past year. It was actually my husbands hand me down. But we put a new girly cover and filled it with her favorite songs. She never knew the difference. I was just telling my husband it was the best gift we've ever got her to date. She plays with it all the time. Hers does not take pictures or movies, but how great would that be if it did! She plays games, hooks it up to her portable barbie speakers to listen to music, and she can watch movies we've downloaded or go out to Youtube and search for her favorite shows.

I would say a 16GB would probably the way you want to go, when its all said and done an 8GB can not hold much on it, especially when you start adding movies & music.

My son has the 8 GB and I have the 32 GB and I wish that I would have gotten him at least the 16 GB (Got the 8 GB first). Starting with the 4th Generation the iTouch can record movies and take pictures.

My 14 year old daughter has one that is about a year old and the 11 year old daughter has one she bought this year. The newest one has 2 camera's in it (facing you and facing away) which is great for taking pictures and for using Skype with video (so you can see who you are speaking to). They both have 16 GB I believe, and that seems sufficient for large amounts of music as well as tv episodes storage, and lots of games. One daughter signed up for iTunes and once she downloads stuff she simply puts it on both their iPods. iTunes is very similar to using Window's Media Player except that Apple products ONLY connect to iTunes. I still just have an older Sandisk MP3 player which is all I need since I do not play games or want to watch video's on a tiny screen. However, today we had to wait an hour and my 11 year old was happy to watch some tv episodes she had on her iPod. My kids also have a sketching app and a piano app and a recording app that I think came with the iPod. It is just an awesome little piece of technology. To think that my first desktop computer had a 40GB hard disk and now you can get that much computing power and storage on a little handheld!!

Hi My daughter has an iPod touch she never uses becuase i have the iphone 4G 32GB with all the works camera etc....

We are planning on selling the iPod Touch if you are interested. It was bought in Christmas but litearlly has like 5 apps on it and really hasnt been used because we forget we have it becuase of the iphone4.

It is a 8GB and no camera though. It is going for an avg of $150 on craigslist which we have ben skeptical to sell on. If you are interested and want to save $$ vs buying new send me a message i would be glad to work something out with you!
