I would like some ideas for table foods for my 13 month old. Or do you know of any good books with some ideas for some meal prep for her. I have been giving pretty much the same things....(sliced bread, pasta, peas, carrots, avacados and her stage 2 and stage 3 baby food.) I do all the Gerber Grad meals and sides, etc.

But I would like to give her more table foods that are fresh and things that I can make her for meals. We try to feed her healthy meals...no processed meals. She wont eat meat other than chicken. And she is Lacotose intollarent so cheese and yougurt are out of the question.

Thanks for any suggestions!

What can I do next?

Here are some of the things I give my 14 month old -
precooked frozen chicken breast diced up - I also eat them and they are very good. She really likes ground beef as well. You said yours olny eats chicken. You might could try making miniture meat loaves in muffin tins. She LOVES asparagas, pico (diced tomatoes, cilantro and white onion), corn on the cob, you can try tofu, all DOLE fruit cups, granola bars, sweet peas. She also loves okra and pickles.

Email me at my website and I'll send you what I've put together over the years. It might not be exactly what you need...but it might trigger some ideas of your own.

Anything you can put in the blender! And now is a great time to get her used to vegetables, especially if she is lactose intolerant. She's going to need all those vitamins etc. We did veggies more then fruit at this stage in my daughters life and now she loves both! She'll eat broccoli, green beans, peas, by the handful. Just as much as a bowl full of fruit now. I made all our babyfood because like you we didn't want processed food... She loved potatoes, sweet potatoes she LOVED, veggies like I mentioned and that's a great start. If she's lactose intolerant, you probably want to be careful of peanuts, eggs and other things that may also have allergies! Stick to doctors recommendations just to stay on the safe side! My daughter loves beans too, like refried beans... Those would be easy and you can make your own really easily! Just soak them all day and then smash them up add salt and butter as you desire and you're there, but that may be on the allergy list so ask before you try that one...

As for the meat, my daughter still at two and a half doesn't care for too much meat. She'll eat some, but she usually chews it up and spits it out. But that's okay at this age just as long as they can taste it, they get nutrients from just chewing it...

Hope that helps, best of luck! This was a tough stage for us because of her reflux and not being sure of what she should really try. Just try one new thing at a time and isolate it so that you know if she responds differently to it (medically or just preferance wise) you don't have to guess what it was, and treat it easier!

All the best!

My son is allergic to milk and milk products, so I know how tough that is.

He loves baked sweet potato fries. We peel and cut sweet potatoes (which are super healthy), toss with a little olive oil, a little salt/pepper. Spray a little oil onto a cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees until they are soft and lightly browned. He LOVES them and we do too. They will be soft enough for your daughter to chew.

For really quick meals...Amy's products makes a GREAT roasted vegetable pizza with no cheese. He is being a little fussy right now about colors in food..but when he was 13 months he devoured this. I think the roasted vegetables taste so sweet. I always find this one pizza at Whole Foods...sometimes Target has it.

I try to feed my 13 mo whatever I cook for dinner to try to keep from preparing 2 meals. She likes pasta (whole wheat) mixed with a little butter, veggie burgers, turkey meatballs, fried eggs, tofu... I also get organic cereal bars from Wal-Mart (the boxes have Sesame Street characters on the front), and she eats those for snacks.
