I don't know if you have tried aquaphor ointment. But it works for everything. My son has had a bad rash as well and the aquaphor cleared it up in 2 days. You can get it at the grocery store or any Walgreens or CVS. Hope it helps!
My son has had a terrible diaper rash for several weeks and I had tried every ointment, cream and or remedy known to man. I finally took my son to the doctor and he told me that my son has eczema on his bum and he suggested a cream for eczema but also told me that we should change diapers as well. We used only Pampers with our oldest son and we loved them! He never leaked or got any kind of rashes with them, so I am at a loss for what diaper would be the best for his sensitive skin. I am really not interested in using cloth diapers though. Please help me!
Thank you in advance!
I am eternally grateful for all of the wonderful advice! I am quite happy to report that we made the change to the Huggies Supreme and the rash was gone in a matter of days! I can't thank you all enough! I was hoping to not have to buy 40 different brands to find the one that worked! Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the bottom of my baby's bum!

Hi A.!
My son had eczema all over his body when he was just 1. (He's 2 now.) We tried everything....all the ointments, prescriptions, etc. Someone finally told me how to rid my home of harmful chemicals by using better safer products. It worked! Within 3 days of using safer cleaning and laundry products, his eczema went away and it's been gone ever since. I'd LOVE to give you more information about the products we're using and how they worked! Feel free to call me anytime! My number is ###-###-####.

I know you've gotten a ton of advice, I just wanted to add a couple of helpful things we use. I always buy pampers sensitive wipes and at the first sign of a rash I use Dr. Smith's ointment. (Arbonne is good, too) huggies are better diapers than pampers, too. no rashes when I do these things. but he has been prone to a rash with other wipes and other rash ointments. good luck! S.
I was in your situation a few months ago. But my DD ended up with a yeast infection on her bottom because of the diaper rash getting so bad. I used Pampers Swaddlers and Cruisers with my first one, and was with her. I have now switched to Huggies Supreme Natural Fit and have not had one problem in 3 months. I don't like them as much as the Pampers, but they make her better so that is what I am sticking with.
Good Luck!
Whole Foods carries diapers (chlorine free) in the 365 brand (their equivalent to store brand)...so less expensive than 7th Generation, but more than other national brands.
Both of my kids have very dry/sensitive skin and I used Luvs with both of them and never had a problem. When my first child was born I only used Pampers, but Luvs worked so much better and they are a lot cheaper. I tried Huggies and both of my kids had horrible reactions to them.
I'm not a doctor but I might suggest cloth diapers AND before you go ughh, they're really a new deal these days. No pins, no rubber pants and the ones we use with our diaper service have never been bleached nor do we ust chlorine EVER. Bree's Bums (Bree is my partner in the service) sells all-in-ones (just like putting on a disposable), Fuzzi Buns, Bummies and others. The service uses natural cotton and a breatheable cover (that velcros just like disposables). One of our customers had to put Desitin on her baby with every change while using disposables. When she switched to the service, she hasn't used it a day. I realize eczema is different from a rash but I know heat aggravates it. Thus, anything that would breathe would suggest cloth might be an answer. If you want to research more check out our website www.earthbabydiaperserice.com or breesbums.com. It's educational as well as informational about us.
In any event I hope the little fellow gets some relief soon and please don't completely dismiss cloth diapers without checking it out. They're really as easy and convenient as disposables, would save you about $2-3000 in the long run, and are environmentally friendly as well. And they breathe! You might want to look at it this way, would you rather wear Depends for several hours or your cotten underwear?
Hi A.,
I totally understand what you are going through. My son, now 1, had ecsema outbreak when he was 3 months. I hated using the steroid creams and hydrocortizone on him. I switched all of his products to Arbonne and we haven't had a problem with it since!!
I put the diaper cream on him after every diaper change, especially the last one before bed! He has never had diaper rash!!
Let me know if you are at all interested. They're baby line is awesome, and comes with six amazing products. Hair and body wash; lotion; oil; sun screen; diaper cream; and FREE lotion for you!

Hi A.,
My daughter also has incredibly sensitive skin. She is now 3 and we're still hoping she'll eventually outgrow it. We ended up using Luvs diapers and Huggies shea butter wet wipes. I tried Pampers and Pampers sensitive skin wipes but the Luvs And Huggies shea butter wipes seemed to be the ticket for us. We also use an ointment her pediatrician recommended named Calmoseptine. You don't need a prescription for it, but do have to ask the pharmacist for it behind the counter. Walgreens usually stocks it, and Target as well as Walmart pharmacy will order for you and have it in a day. Hope this helps. Good luck! L.
One thing we put on our daughters excema is cornstarch with a clean cotton ball. It is a natural route and works great! One of my friends had suggested it to me.
We had the same problem. We were told to stop using the Huggies thought. In retrospect, I think it has nothing to do with the diaper actually. I finally talked to a nurse that said she buys even the generic brand of diaper - she didn't think it was the diaper, she felt it was just the sensitive skin. Her point was that you have to protect the skin which gets aggravated from pee/poo mixed with the diaper. OK, so the thing we found the absolute most amazingly helpful was to sit him in a bath with just water and baking soda - do not use soap on it for a while, it just dries it out. then, we used "calendula" cream - you can get it at whole foods/central market. it is a plant extract cream kinda like aloe vera, with the consistency of vaseline. It protected our baby's bum like no other (i think i tried every cream at the store!) and the first night we did this, he woke up in the morning and was literally 50% better than it had been in weeks. good luck!!
I recommend the diapers at Whole Foods (the 365 brand). They are just like Seventh Generation diapers - chlorine and bleach free, fragrance free, etc - but they are cheaper. They are $10.99 per packet. I use them for both of my sons and neither one of them have gotten diaper rashes since using them. You get 30 diapers in a Size 5 packet and 38 diapers in a Size 3 packet. I will warn you though, that like Seventh Generation diapers, they tend to run a bit small, so keep that in mind when you are trying to determine size. I actually like the Whole Foods brand better than the Seventh Generation. They are softer and the tabs are a little stretchier. And they aren't quite as brown as the Seventh Generation diapers. We use the Whole Foods brand wipes as well and really like them. Those are $4.99 for a pack of 80.
Hope this helps!
I hate to say it but you seem to be in the same situation that my sister was in with her son and his eczema. I know that is may seem like a pain but she finally had to resort to the cloth diapers and a diaper service. I know you don't want to but it may be your only choice like it was for my sister. Just a thought.
Hi A.,
I have to second the Huggies response. My daughter and son have always had some of the most sesitive skin and Huggies were the "only" diapers they would not break out in rashes when using.
I use the Huggies Supremes on my son now but used the regular Huggies on my daughter and both of the brand's seemed to work just fine, I just think the Huggies Supremes are a little softer so you might want to try those on your baby.
Good luck!

They sell organic diapers and Whole Foods that my friend uses on her son. You might them but they are a little pricey.
My youngest has VERY sensitive skin. He has ezema and Keratosis Pilaris which I have as well.
Good Luck to you.
Some of the pampers have a scent to them, which could be aggravating his skin. It could also be that mesh weave thing they've put as a top layer on some of them (I hate that, it seems like it would rub against the skin and irritate it). The regular huggies have neither of those things, so you could try those. Or just buy a small package of any kind to see how they are with his skin; there will probably be some trial and error to it.
Some people may say they had this same problem, but really, I had this SAME problem. We used pampers on the oldest and so we automatically used Pampers for the 2nd one. Well the second one had/has the same problem you're having. We switched to HUGGIES and have had no problem. She was simply allergic to Pampers. Huggies supreme, or regular (red pkg, or white pkg) They are the same.
H A.,
I agree with the posts about 7th generation. Besides all of the bleach and chemical free aspects, they are also really nice diapers.
They can hold alot, they dont leak on my son, and they have the best stretchy tabs. You can order them online through Amazon, and if you sign up for a monthly subscription service you get 15% off and free shipping! So they wind up costing the same as Huggies or
Pampers, but you are getting a much better product for your baby and the environment.
Are you using latex gloves? I couldn't figure out my daughters rash until my sitter stopped using gloves & it never came back!
I know that Pampers have a fragrance in them. It smells great, but can't be comfy for a baby w/ eczema. Try finding a brand without fragrance.
Hi A.,
My son had the same problem for awhile. Have you tried letting him run around naked for awhile to let it air out down there? That seems to help. I also used the diapers from Wal Greens. They seemed to work the best. Also, I am an Arbonne consultant and I will send you some of our baby products to try for free. That is the only products that worked on my son who is now three. I tried everything. emial me or call me if you are interested in trying the products for free. I won't charge you anything. I love being able to help other mom's and just people in general.
Have a great day! S. Rusher ###-###-####
My daughter is very sensitive. I use Seventh Generation Baby Diapers and Whole Foods 365 Baby Diapers. Both are fragrance free, chlorine free, latex free and Dye free. I also use the Seventh Generation Diaper Wipes. We have had no problems.
Have you tried good old fashioned petroleum jelly? That helped a little with my son.
Good luck!
A.
A friend of mine had the same problem with her little boy and she also switched to cloth diapers and he hasn't had any problems since than.
Here is what she use http://www.breesbums.com/ and she really likes them.
I am not really sure if it will help but you could give it a try :)
Seventh Generation makes chlorine free diapers which sometimes babies have a hard time with that chemical and also you may want to stop using wipes and use wipe clothes that are warm because the wipes dry out their little bottoms :)
GOOD LUCK
