Whomever you choose, go to Texas Dept of Family and Protective Services. http://www.dfps.state.tx.us/Child_Care/Search_Texas_Child... to see their inspection record. This site gives details of problems that were found at the daycare.
Our son is 18 months old. He was in a daycare (where they never cleaned and he was sick every week) until May. Since then, he has been at home with my husband. In August my husband will return to school so we need a daycare or school with a good record. We would prefer more of an early education/school/montessori environment to traditional daycare as he is very smart and we'd like for him to be challenged every once in awhile. I have looked at St. Alcuin, White Rock North Montessori and some others...most either have long waiting lists or are $1000/month for care. We need something that is less than $800/month but comes recommended. I know early education is important, but I'm sorry...I have a hard time imagining spending St. Marks, ESD, or Hockaday money (I went to Hockaday) on a program for a toddler. Some of these schools are over $17K/yr for an 18 month old! If I pay that, he better turn out like Doogie Howser and graduate from high school a genius at the age of 13!
Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!! Please help?

M., what part of Dallas do you prefer the day care to be in?
Perhaps I could help you in the future. I have an in home preschool business, but unfortunately also currently have a waiting list as I am full. I live near White Rock North, and have much lower rates. You can learn more about me at http://www.lalaschildcare.com. Please feel free to contact me directly at ____@____.com, and I will be happy to discuss rates and answer any questions you may have.

i don't have a recommendation, but I LOVED your description of what your child should turn out to be if you spend $17k/year on him!!!! Dr Doogie!!! :)
Mother's Day Out Programs are a good way to go. They are not 0as costly as "Pre-schools" but your child will get the same education. The teachers that work there truly love what they do. Most MDO Programs are 2 days a week so you could enroll your son in 2 or even 3 programs. Two great ones that my 3yr.old daughter has attended since she was 2mos. are First United Methodist Church a.k.a. Academy Kids ###-###-#### and Sunnyval First Baptist Church a.k.a. Kingdom Kids (972)
I recommend Christ Luther Church Day care center on Lovers Lane. My son has been going there since January.
