I Need a Good Car Seat for My 18 Month Old.

My 18 month old needs a convertable carseat, she is 27lbs and I want to continue to keep her rear facing. She has been using her older brothers Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite rear facing, but that seat is 3 years old now and I want to get a newer one for her. Are there any out there that can keep them comfortably rear facing until 40lbs? As much as I would love to say money isn't an issue here it is, otherwise I would just order a Britax for her, I know they are the best. I would like to try and stay around $150.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We got her a Graco My Ride 65. I had my mind made up to get a Britax Boulevard 70, but once we got to the store and put her in them, she was more comfortable in the Graco. Thank you all, it really helped.

Graco MyRide65 is $150 and will rear face to 40lbs and forward face to 65. Its the same shell height as the Britax Marathon so it will last most kids to at least age 5/6 in the harness.

The Britax Roundabout50 at Target is $160 and will rear face to 40lbs, forward face to 50lbs. Same height as the Marathon.

Good for you for wanting to continue rear facing. Its the safest! THe MyRide is a great seat for the price you will be happy with it.

This is the best one! It's convertible...from 0-65 lbs. It's kind of heavy so it's not good if you have to move it a lot from one car to another but it is worth it! It was $120 at Walmart. But I researched a lot before I got it. But the best part about it was this was the only one I saw that was crash tested. Here is the link...check it out and good luck!!!

I love my Britax boulevard. They are a bit pricey but if you look around on the internet you can find sales. I just bought one last month for $189 including shipping from Albeebaby.com. They are regularly $300. Look around. Your sure to find a sale.

They are great.
You can keep them rear facing till 40 lbs.
Super easy to clean the cover
Adjusting the straps and head rest are super easy.

Good luck.

We really like the Evenflo Triumph. I'm not sure what the rear facing weigh limit is, you may have to check it out but the main reason I LOVE this seat is because it has the crank handle to tighten the straps, as opposed to the pull rope that is usually between the legs. It makes my so happy and my life so much easier. My daughter also has the Alpha Omega Elite and although I like it fine, the straps are always getting uneven and I have to mess with it. The down side is that it is pretty bulky, but it wasn't terribly expensive.
