Congratulations!! I want to go back for my Bachelor's. I was married at 21 and I have 3 kids - one will be 12, one is 9 and the youngest is 5.
Congrats on the great achievement!!
I "graduate" on Sunday with my MBA. I have one final paper to write, which I will start tomorrow, and then I'm done! I have met my goal of getting the degree prior to my 30th birthday (I will be 29.5 on the 2nd, haha!) despite having 3 kids by 24, married at 21, and all of the other obstacles life has brought my way (which have been plentiful at times). I literally cannot believe it is so close!
So tonight I must have felt like I was done, because even though my daughter had dance and my youngest has football, I still got all of the lunches packed, the kitchen spotless, vacuumed the living room, and am finally siting down after getting up at 530 to work a 9 hour day. I think when I am done my house will be clean all the time, my kids will be happier, and I'll be far less stressed.
I'm seriously considering an over-ngiht date night with hubby. My friend offered to take all 3 kids (WOW!) so I might take her up on it! If not, I'll just be glad to have more free time to spend with my husband AND kids.
If you have accomplished a life-long goal that took most of your "free" time, what did you do to celebrate?
Thank you all :). It's unreal that it's here already! I think Monday I won't know what to do since I won't have any school work to do! Great ideas on some things to do :). You ladies are fabulous as usual!

Congrats on the great achievement!!
Drinking took up all my time.
I gave that up - got my career back, found a nice girl, built a dream house had kids and toys and lived happily ever after.
Wow --- thats great!
I'm not sure what I'd do especially since you only have one night. But I'd try to think of something that had always interested me that I just didn't have the time for before. A place you've always wondered about. Something, some place you've put off for a long time.
Enjoy!
All I can say is CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU ARE AWESOME
WOW - Shut it already, you are making alot of us ME look really bad! LOL, Seriously CONGRATS to you that is an AWESOME accomlishment! GO on the overnighter with the hubby, if anyone deserves it, it would be YOU!!! as for the celebrating, I have yet to accomplish a life-long goal, wait yes I have, I found the perfect man for me who helped me make 2 beautiful kids! I got married to celebrate! Yeah so I did things a little backwards! AGAIN CONGRATS TO YOU!!!!!!
Congratulations! That is a big accomplishment. Definitely take your kids up on the offer!
I wouldn't call it a life long goal but when I completed my MBA I got pregnant then never went back to work FT. Now I don't even work PT. Can not for the life of me remember why I had to have my MBA before I had kids. I hope I never have to use it though. Especially since I don't even like business anymore;).
Congratulations on a job well-done!
Congratulations on all your hard work. Take a week or two off to let it all sink in.
Then plan what you will do next. Yes, you will have a lot of time to do other things that you did not do while studying but you will have your life and all that goes in it.
Once again, congratulations.
The other S.
Congratulations! This is a wonderful accomplishment for you and your family. Take a bow and pat yourself on the back, you deserve it!!!!
Way to go! But don't stress so much about the house. It's clean enough! Go have fun instead!
Dawn
When I finished college I went camping for a month with my boyfriend (now husband) and his family in the Adirondacks.
CONGRATULATIONS! that's awsome! God Bless you, your family, your friend for taking the kids for a night, and your new degree! take a picture of your last paper (I wish a had... 'cause years later I don't even remember what it was about....LOL!) Celebrate and enjoy your new "free" time. ~C.~
Congratulations!
I think it is great that you are going to celebrate.
I think because my family was never around or cared to celebrate with me, I didn't. But I make a point to do it for my children. We take them to dinner and let them pick an activity.
WOW! Congratulations!
I did the same thing you did- I completed a master's degree last August, only much later in life than you (I am in my 40's). Not that age matters, it's still an accomplishment.
Much like you, I did it with two kids, a husband, and a full time job. I look back over those years and I really do wonder how I didn't go crazy!
We celebrated with a fabulous dinner with family and a new Kindle Fire for me. I wanted to read just because I could, not because I "had" to!
So now it's your turn to enjoy a good celebration, however you choose to celebrate. You've earned it!
AWWW!!! Congrats! Really, I know what you went through. I had my daughter at 16 I graduated highschool when I was 18 like everyone else and I went to college. It was hard really hard, but I waited to get married im 29 too, got Married a couple of days ago. But Congrats!!!!!!!!!
Wow, Congrats to you!!! What a huge accomplishment - you and your family must be very proud! When I was in college, I was living in an apartment on my own, working FT (sometimes w/a PT job on the side as well) and going to school FT. I worked or went to school/studied/did homework almost around the clock; 7 days a week. When I finished after 5 LONG years, I said to heck with responsibility and worrying about the $ - I grabbed 2 friends and went on a cruise! I don't regret it to this day - I needed to RELAX in a big way!!!
Congratulations. Now don't forget to turn in that paper!
For me I was married at 23, working full time and going to school. I found out I was pregnant right before my final semester, where they threatened to cancel the last class due to low enrollment. NO!! I finished my degree in Dec. of that year (8 years after I started college). When I walked that following June, my 2m son was in attendance. We have a framed picture of me in my grad robe holding him.
So proud of u!!!! Go to Vegas and party....tixs are now cheap on southwest. or do a dinner, cocktails, and romantic night!!! I too will complete my MSN in December, got engaged, have a 3rd grader, and trying to be everything to everybody. It has put strain on my family. I say if your friend is a friend....do it!!!!!!!
