I need your expertise or experience. My husband has tried to stop smoking various times. He has done the nicotine patch, pills, cold turkey.....you name it. He has been successful for as long as 6 months then he starts again. Now we are considering hypnosis. I've heard good things about it, but I have not met anyone who has actually experienced it. Does anyone have experience in this arena? If so, can you recommend someone who has really helped you? I live in the west suburbs of Chicago, I am willing to travel anywhere. Thank you.

F., my husband, mom, sisters & I all quit successfully 4 years ago through a smoking cessation group through Northwestern hospital. The leaders name is Carol Southard. I cannot say enough about this group. I only went for my mom who was a two pack a day smoker for 40 years. I quit a week into the program. It's a little pricey, but trust me soooo worth it. Email me if you want to discuss more. Her number is ###-###-####.
This may be the least helpful response...sorry...:( BUT, if you have an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through your employers they may be able to refer you to a hypnotist. usally the EAPs have lots of referrals for smoking cessation which should include acupuncture & hypnosis. You actually gave me a great idea for trying to quit myself. Thanks!
My Dad saw a therapist by the name of Nancy Ging and has been smoke-free for several years now.
