My 4 year old has a nasty cold with cough and I bought the Hylands Cold and Cough "All natural" medicine. Just wondering if anyone has used it and how effective it was? I haven't given it to him just yet. Thanks!
we use it and it works just about the same as any other cold or cough medicine. Hope he feels better soon!
It's as good as any mixture of homeopathics can be. Hylands isn't my favorite brand but they are well distributed and do the job you want safer than the cold medicines the big pharma companies make.
Though it is expensive my favorite cold remedy is prevention. Vitamin C 3,000 units every day and 5,000 ut. vitamin D. Most people in our country are totally lacking and depleted in vitamin D which leaves them open to winter illnesses and depression.
As for a good child's brand of multivitamins guaranteed the ones in the big supermarkets are worthless.
I use it sometimes with my kids. I have even used it myself.
But... any cough/cold syrup... only helps to relieve symptoms or discomfort.
It will not "cure" a cold/cough.
We use it and I think it works well on mild symptoms. It will only take the edge off of a 'nasty' cold with cough though. Doesn't hurt to try it as it's so safe.
We've used it, and it works fairly well, if only the honey suspension it's in to soothe a sore throat.
They lessen symptoms and duration, just make sure you follow the directions on the packaging for your child's age/weight (weight is more important than age for meds).

I recently used it on 2 of my kids. I really think Hyland products work great.
