I would give the tickets to the Drew Carey thing first, and wait for him to realize "but it is in Vegas". Then you can say "Oh Yeah, here's the rest" then give him the papers.
For my DH's birthday I got him a trip to Vegas for him and his friends. There are 5 going in all (including his brother from VA).
We're having a poker night for his birthday. I don't know how to give him his birthday present. It's just some papers that say when they leave (two weeks after his birthday) and where they're staying. It's the travel itinerary. They also have tickets to Drew Carey's Improv-a-ganza that is filming at the MGM Grand.
Anyone have any fun cool ideas/ways to give him these papers?
If it matters, for food we're doing sandwich platters, catered by his favorite deli, chips, beer and sodas and I'll be making a cake and cupcakes. (There will be a small round cake, surrounded by cupcakes. The cupcakes will have poker chips on them. The cake will have playing cards on it, all of that will be made with fondant.) If you think there's anything I'm missing as far as food goes, feel free to give me ideas.
Thank all!

Oh my goodness you are a wonderful wife! No advice.
What a great present!
Personally I would use the hotel logo to create a card and craft unique wording in the inside that spells it out, THEN give him the itinerary.
You could use that "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" logo/sign for the front.
Inside: Enjoy x days and y nights in Las Vegas with Bill, Larry, Sven, Booger and Stick! You'll leave on ABC 6th and return ABC 10th.
Have a FABULOUS trip with the guys!
Love,
Jennifer
Depending on how you'd like to deliver....either Before or after his party, dress up like a vegas showgirl or a burlesque dancer, feather boa included and deliver a copy of his ticket to Vegas in your bustier.....he will get a kick out of that for sure!!!!
The theme is very clever!
Isn't there a way to have it part of the kitty for a win? Maybe the guys can intentionally lose just one hand so DH can win the trip.
I have a couple of ideas:
1) Instead of cards on top of the cake, make fondant tickets to Vegas. When he eyes those babies and exclaims something to the effect of, "Wish those babies were real!", you can slyly do a "magic trick" and say, "Voila!" and hand over the real Vegas tickets to him.
OR
2) Place an envelope with the tickets inside them under the small round cake. As he cuts into the cake to serve it to everyone, he'll gradually notice (more and more after each piece is cut/served), that there's something under the cake--it's an envelope of some sort. He says, "What's this?" Everyone yells, "OPEN IT & FIND OUT!" :)
The Welcome to Vegas sign!!! Can you put this on the cake somehow?
How about buying dice and wrapping them up and have a small note saying this year's birthday is a gamble,? Or if you're feeling spicy dress up as a showgirl :-)
We just surprised our kids with a cruise for Christmas...we leave on Friday!!
We gave them new luggage (carry-on size) and filled it with things they'll need specific for this trip (new formal wear, new bathing suits, flip flops, etc). At the bottom, we had papers that all said their names on the front and had the details of our trip. It was fabulous! They are 9, 7, and 5, so maybe something similar, but a little different.
I'd google some options too.
We threw a huge casino night party at my friends amazing house for my husband's 40th. We used the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" Sign on the invitations and changed it to "Welcome to Dan's Fabulous 40th".
Anything you do with that sign is so recognizable he'll get the point right away. Judging from your great party ideas you'll come up with a really cute way to reveal his awesome gift. It's nice to hear about the great marriage you obviously have, sometimes I get down from reading about all the troubled marriages out there on this site. Enjoy the party!
I would toss them into the anti pile (as long as everyone knew that was the gift and was in no shape part of the play for them to "win") if your dealing with a serious bunch and someone will claim that was part of the pile to win dont do that. Other than putting a gift basket together idk.
