Help, a pen leaked on my good couch. I blotted the spot with cold water and dawn without any luck. Anyone know how to get ink out of "I think" Chenille fabric?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks Mammas, I knew that I could count on you! I used the rubbing alcohol and most of the ink came out, I used an entire roll of paper towels, the entire pen leaked. Because there was so much ink, I couldn't get it all out, I think if I let it dry a little it won't get so messy when I dab with the alcohol. I will give it a break and when it dries I will blot some more. I am pretty sure that it will come out with the alcohol technique. Great idea. I have a stain from the dye from one of my candles on my kitchen cabinet - I am going to try the alcohol technique to get it off - nothing else has worked!

Crazy but aerosol hairspray works to get pen out of fabric. Spray it and scrub. Then rinse with water.

Plain old rubbing alcohol. Works wonders! Just blot it on, it should come right out.

Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. That's the ingredient in hairspray that gets the ink out but I just use the rubbing alcohol straight so there is no lacquer residue. Test a spot on the back of the couch or underside of a cushion to make sure the alcohol doesn't harm the fabric.

I've heard that baby wipes work well. Never tried it, though! Good luck!

I had always been told hairspray, but it may be because of the alcohol content in it. . .

I agree with the rubbing alcohol. This type of things happened to me too and it worked perfectly.

Yes rubbing alcohol.
It also gets rid of a lot of other things, marks on walls etc. But do a test patch first, sometimes it will also affect paint.

Or, at a professional pen shop, they have ink removers.
Or Google search it.

Goof Off will get anything out of anything. You just have to make sure it doesn't take the color out of the fabric as well.
