HI Mamma's!
I was wondering what you all think is a reasonable amount to pay the neighbor boy (he's about 12 or 13) to come pick up my dog poop probably once a week. I have two dogs and a relatively small back yard. Is $10.00 a week enough...$20?
I'm tired of waiting on my husband to pick it up and the poop getting so bad that I can't take my girls out to play in the backyard lol! Thanks for your help!
Thanks for all you're help! I think we'll go with $15.00 twice a week. We have an Australian Sheppard and a Pug so there is quite a lot of poop! We do have a pooper scooper tool so that we don't have to bend over, but my hubby considers the dog poop--and the yard for that matter, his job so he gets upset if I try to pick up the poop. Haha, I think it's more that he feels guilty if I get out there and do it cause he knows that he should have done it already! I Thanks for all your answers!
I would divide it into two visits per week...will give you more chances for a clean yard. Maybe $5-7 visit??
I think $10 a week should be plenty.
10-15 bucks should be good maybe then give him tip if he does its really good. that way he feels more rewarded than his base pay being more. it shouldn't take him longer than what 20-30minutes? depending on how much your dogs poop lol. if you add it up that $40-60 a month. i mean i dont make that at my job per hour i wanna clean your dog messes lol!
I would have him do it 2 times a week for $10. I would say for a pooper scooper $5/day for a young kid is pretty good. Add that to his allowance and he is probably going to be set for the things he wants to buy for himself.

I think a 12 year old boy would love to earn $20 a week, but I think I'd like him to come twice a week for that amount. The work will be less yucky done more often, your yard will be cleaner, and the young man will earn enough money to actually do something with. So sad that $10 doesn't even buy anything any more.....
I just got an flyer on my door and they charge $10 a week, or $15 bi-weekly, so I think for a neighborhood boy, I would charge $10 a week.
I did get a pooper scooper that really works that I don't need to bend over to pick up the poop. It was about $25, but now it makes picking up the poop so easy that I don't mind doing it. However, I have one small pug so his messes on that big. But they do make them for larger dogs.
