The only tipping of maid service is in hotels..and generally it is $3-5 per night. Regular service requires no tip...though at Chrsitmas it is nice to give them a "thank you" tip.
Hello mom's,
Later this week I have a maid service coming to clean my house. This is the first time I have done this, so I am clueless. I assume I should tip them but how much? Should I tip a percentage of what the bill is? And if I decide to have them come every week, do I tip them each and every week? Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks ladies.
Thanks for the responses! It's unamious.....NO TIP! :)

I don't tip the maid service on a weekly basis because I pay a set fee. If the person does something for me above and beyond and doesn't charge me an additional fee, I might give them a cash tip. Christmas time I usually give give them a tip.
No tipping. Are you kidding? No tipping. If you get the same lady every week, you can give her an envelope at Christmas.
No tipping, really and truly.
Dawn
I don't tip either. I give a monetary gift at Christmas.
Maybe I am out of the loop, but I've had cleaning people for the past 12 years (the same people) and have never tipped them everytime they come. They charge me a flat rate and that is what I pay. I usually give them a "gift" near Christmas that is about the $$ equivalent to 1 extra cleaning depending if they've been cleaning every other week or once a month.
Tipping for cleaning is not required, or socially needed. If you feel they have done an extra good job, tip them. If you really like what they do every time tip them, but do not feel obligated.
