This is more of a rant than a question, but many women I've talked to agree on some level.
So I went out and bought the Veet hair removal stuff because I'm tired of shaving all the time. As I'm sitting there waiting the three minutes before I can check to see if I can take it all off with the blade less razor I got to thinking. The time passed, and I was able to take all the cream off (just like shaving BTW) my thoughts kept bubbling.
While I was in the shower rinsing off the chemicals (the stuff stinks horribly), I realized that we as women get the short stick when it comes to shaving and razors. Men have these quad blade, closer than close electric razors that are supposed to be phenomenal. They have battery operated straight razors that give a closer than close shave as well. What do we as women have?
If we want a quick shave we have to resort to chemicals and creams. Otherwise it's shaving cream and a straight razor. We as women, more and more often nowadays, get the kids up, give them breakfast, get them to school, go to an 8 hour job, get off work, pick up the kids, go home, make dinner, then get the kids to bed. Where in our busy schedules do we have the time to spend 20 minutes on shaving our legs with the straight razor, only to find that we missed some glaringly obvious spots the next morning as we're already late for work.
Why is the market for women's quality electric razors so small it's nearly non-existent? As I'm typing this I think back to the electric razor I was given after my grandmother died. It belonged to her and looked like a medieval torture device. I never used it for fear of slicing my leg off.
Anyway, that's my rant, and if anyone comes up with a new product from this rant, I would like to at least be acknowledged for giving the spark of genius that led to the new product. :)
This is just a rant, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion even if it rolling your eyes and muttering jeeze you guys, grow up huh? Feel free to let it out. :)
Okay, so I used the Veet, and am NOT impressed. The little 5.5 oz can allowed me two, yes two, uses of the stuff. You have to wait 72 hours between uses, and I had more stubble after the first use than when I just shaved. The second use was worse than the first.
Guess I'm just stuck with a straight razor with a battery in it and shaving cream.

[chuckle] I have to confess that I've used men's razors for YEARS - ever since I realized how unbelievably crappy ladies razors were! I got my legs waxed professionally for the first time today and the gal asked me if I wanted my upper lip waxed, too. (Sure wish men would get THEIR upper lips waxed!) We'll see if I have smooth legs this time next month!
To add to your rant: Shoes. Not dress shoes, but tennis shoes or boots. I worked security all the way through college and was constantly buying work boots (at least once every six months) because they kept falling apart. The guys I worked with had been wearing the same doggone pair of boots since high school! I finally got smart and bought a pair of boys' boots . . . and darn if they didn't last me all through college and they are still in my closet right now and are in great condition. It's more than a little depressing that the quality of men's boots and tennis shoes are so much more superior than women's!

Fuuny! I too use men's razors. Also, I use men's deodorant. Why? Because ALL the women's stuff has anti-perspirant (sp?)on top of the deodorant... The anti-p. is that aluminum additive that stops you from sweating. Its also thought to contribute to breast cancer and breast cysts, for real! Plus I don't hardly sweat, so why do I need the aluminum? I guess all women are railroaded into using anti-perspirant, need it or not. Too bad the natural kind like Tom's of Maine doesn't work for me. There's my little rant to make you feel better.

I have felt the same way about razors! I use my husband's electric Norelco razor when he's at work! It's so nice and easy to use! I also use one of his old straight razors with a double blade that flexes :) I haven't nicked myself in years because of this!
