Is there such a thing of a single's mom group? If there is can anyone give me some information? I am a single mom of a 13 year old girl and 4 year old boy. I do not have any family in Illinois so it's just me and my kids. At times I need that interaction with other moms going through the same single mommy issues I go through. Just coping and mingling with others. I appreciate any feedback.

My mom was actually a member "back in the day" - don't know how it holds up in 2007, but it really helped her then to feel connected to other singles. Good luck.
Dear, you aren't alone, whether you are a single mom widower or a married mom! I hope you find a group to join but realize that there is alot to be offered from ANY group you join! Join a book club (we have one in Buttonwood that is awesome!) or a church group (they usually have babysitting) or something else that interests you. Believe me, you will find someone that is experiencing what you are, even if it is only about dealing with a percocious 4 year old. YOU ARE NOT ALONE, you found us, didn't you?? =)
I too a a recently single mom with two kids. There are some groups that I get together with, but would like to be able to bring the kids too. Working full time I don't like to leave them when I don't have too.

There is a magazine out there called the Singles Edge. The target market is single parents! I bet there are some resources in that! Good Lcuk!! I am sure you are doing a great job.. I come from a single parent household and I do know how hard my mom worked to do it all... your kids do too... they may not act like it but they know!!

She got tons of support from the members and that is actually where she met my stepdad. I know that she is still friends with many of the woment she met in that group too and this has been at least 17 years ago. They had many family events too and my youngest brother used to like going to those.
