Hi Ladies,

We recently got a glass cooktop. Whenever I clean it (wet sponge and a little bit of dish soap), there is always a residue around the burners. It never gets fully clean! You can see the circular residue around the burners. Please help!

What can I do next?

I have a white Kitchen Aid glass top that is over 2 yrs old and it is still perfectly white!!

I use the Ceramabryte (sp) from Home Depot and the yellow scrubbers that are sold right beside it with the same name. They work like a charm.

I have used the yellow scrubbies for other tough to tackle stains as well.

Good luck!

The stuff they sell for them, and a razor blade. :)

All you need is a grease cleanser and a razor blade. The blade will not damage the top at all and the cleanser will get rid of the residue. Don't use a sponge - sponges hold onto stuff that you've already used them on, so you are just smearing more stuff onto it.

Personally, I prefer Multi-purpose windex w/vinegar. It's the clear stuff and I use it on EVERYTHING.

There is stuff you can buy called Cooktop Magic. That's what we use.

There's lots of products in the stOre to clean and polish it. I use the cleaner on mine and polish it like once a week. That's the only way i have found to keep it clean and shiney

Buy the appropriate cleaner for it and polish it once a week. It will keep things from building up. I also use it when something has boiled over and does not come off with water/soap.

I use Dawn dish soap and a nylon Scotch Brite scrubber, then wash off with dish rag (rinse rag out and wipe again). I didn't like the gritty stuff that came with my stove or the corning ware cleaner designed for those stove tops. If anything burned on, use the razor blade that came with the stove, or you can get them at kitchen ware dept.
