How Comfortable Is the Back Seat in a 4-Door Toyota Tacoma for a Toddler?

We are contemplating getting a new vehicle. My husband wants another full-size truck, but I would rather have something that gets better gas mileage so we settled on possible getting a 4-door Toyota Tacoma. I am just wondering if anyone out there has this truck and if so, how comfortable is it for your child? Mostly I am wondering if there is enough room for them with out having their little feet/legs being squished into the seat in front of them. Any info is helpful as you are all a wonderful reference for anything thing that crosses the "mom-mind" :)

What can I do next?

We have a four door Toyota Tacoma. My Husband is 6/2, I'm 5/10 and our son is in the 95th percentile for height at 2 1/2. He fits just fine in the back and we're going to be adding baby number two back there in October. There's plenty of room for us. If your looking for something bigger, a friend of ours has the Tundra which is a bit bigger and the option for a front bench seat if necessary for extra passangers. When we were shopping we took our car seat and son with us to check it out. If the dealer really wants your business, they won't complain : )

My husband has a toyota tacoma and we have one booster seat and one convertible seat. Granted it doesnt look like there is much leg room for the convertible seat my daughter never complains and she is behind my husband the driver who is back really far. We are able to fit a really skinny third in the middle but there is no way 3 car seats will fit. As far as storage when we go camping we just net everything down and there are no problems with that. I have a honda pilot which is the MAIN family car but we have taken his truck on several hour long car rides which they have never complained about lack of space. He loves his truck and it fits in our garage unlike a full sized truck. He gets about 20-22 mpg.

My friends have one. But it is the Husband's vehicle....it is not used as a "family" car. They have 3 kids.
There would need to be car seats in them.
When my friend's Hubby has to in a pinch pick up the kids etc., well, there is not enough room really for all 3 car seats in the back cab.
And, then there is no room for strollers or other kids stuff etc. Because the back cab is open.

Mainly, the truck is for the Husband, not as a primary family car nor used daily for that purpose. Because he has his own gear/stuff in his truck.

In my opinion, there is plenty of room in the back of a Tacoma for kids. Of course, I grew up when sedans and stationwagons were the 2 family vehicle options. I remember many very long road trips butted up against my brother & sister in the back seat of our Chevy. Other than them hitting me, I have no recollections of being cramped or not enough leg room. Kids are little, flexible, and squishy & can be comfortable just about anywhere!

My friend got one of those. She has two kids, and went from infant to toddler to preschooler to kindergartner in one. She says she loves it. That's all I know about them, though!
