I have gnats around all of my houseplants...every time i water they all come up out of the dirt...there are some strays around the trash area & kitty box, but they are concentrated around my plants, anyone know the best way to get rid of them without killing my plants?

What can I do next?

I have had this problem before, too. I used vinegar, but did not spray my plants...I placed the vinegar in a bottle near the plant. It attracts the gnats and kills them. There are also natural plant sprays that you can buy that are not harmful to plants, children, or pets. :) Hope this helps!

Spray vinegar on them. It shouldn't hurt your plants (unless you have some exotics) and the bugs can't stand the stuff.

Hi,
I would definately change the dirt in all your plants, and leave outdoors on patio and also you can spray with a diluted mixture of soapy H2O . This may help.

The bugs are caused by overwatering. So, once you get rid of them be careful with the amount of watering and they won't come back! Good luck!
